Can you help Imelda?
Alfred and his friends are taking part in some very muddy fundraising to raise money for a hoist!
Only one week to go until Alfred and his friends — along with some very brave parents — take on the muddy obstacle race to raise funds for Imelda.
This year’s fundraiser has a very special goal: raising money for an outdoor hoist for Imelda.
Last year, we were incredibly lucky to be donated a hot tub, and it has made such a huge difference to her life. In the water, Imelda can complete movements and exercises that are far more difficult on land, especially for her hips. She works unbelievably hard every single day to do things many of us take for granted.
The benefits go far beyond physical therapy too — she absolutely loves the water.
But over the last year, Imelda has grown so much. She is now 135cm tall, and at 157cm myself, lifting and supporting a wet, slippery Imelda safely is becoming to difficult and dangerous. Sadly, there is no financial support available for an outdoor hoist.
We have currently been quoted an eye-watering £9,000 — and that’s before installation costs. I’m continuing to approach charities and businesses in the hope that they may be able to help contribute towards this life-changing equipment.
So this year, every penny raised by Captain William and his brave team will go towards helping Imelda continue to safely access the hot tub that gives her so much freedom, therapy, and joy.
A huge thank you to everyone who has already signed up to help raise funds, and to those who have already donated so generously.
With only a week to go, please help us spread the word and show the world the incredible, caring, courageous children Imelda is so lucky to have in her life supporting her.

We’ve published draft sector-specific assessment frameworks. Now we need your feedback.
Will they:
• Help CQC make clearer, more consistent judgements?
• Support providers to improve quality?
• Help identify and tackle inequalities in care?
• Reflect the diversity of services across health and adult social care?
Tell us what you think.
Your feedback will shape the refined frameworks.

Dementia Action Week is coming and we are very excited to be supporting the campaign to "Turn the Town Blue".
This year we are working with amazing organisations and people such as the lovely Jayne from Kinder Essex, Alzheimer's Society, The wonderful Team at Home Instead Braintree, Sudbury and Colne Valley to name just a few!
This year we are asking for help from our amazing pupils across local schools to decorate forget me not flowers which will be transformed into Bunting and displayed around the town to Mark Dementia Action Week and support us in raising awareness and making high streets and local areas inclusive for everyone!
We are offering free, fun assemblies to local schools who would like to share this campaign with their pupils and learn more about the campaign and it's benefits!
If you are a local school or group such as scouts / Brownies / local nurseries in the Braintree, Halstead area and wish to get involved - please contact Emma on 07525451450.
We can't wait to have your help in - Turning the Town Blue this year and raising much needed awareness and accessibility!
