What a wonderful way to end our week in 1M! β˜€οΈπŸ‰

This afternoon, we took turns performing the instructions we created to help douse our fire-breathing dragon from our new story, *Dragon Post*. The sun even came out to join in with our fun! We are looking forward to recording our instructions next week using this valuable learning experience.

Earlier today, 1M also enjoyed a delicious fruit tasting session as part of our DT unit. It was a fantastic opportunity to discover what we liked and disliked - from juicy strawberries πŸ“ to squishy bananas 🍌 and sweet grapes πŸ‡. We can’t wait to design and build our fruity kebabs next week!

Fantastic few days of learning for 1FK!

In History, we explored the question: What is a source? We studied Victorian paintings and old photographs to learn about seaside holidays in the past.

In Maths, we compared numbers, while in DT we carried out some fruit tasting as part of our research for designing and making our own fruit kebabs. Some fruits were definitely more popular than others!

In Literacy, as part of our Dragon’s Post story, we learned how to douse a dragon. The children thoroughly enjoyed themselves when they had the opportunity to orally give instructions. This is in preparation for next week, when they will write their own instructions.

What a fun and exciting week of learning!

As it was raining today, Year 6 and SCS kindly let 2LW share the hall with them for PE. The children worked with 6BM to complete a circuit of 11 different activities to some motivational songs chosen by Mr Port! It was great fun, and the year 6 children were great role models, encouraging and helping the Year 2 children throughout the lesson.

Today we have been busy learning across the curriculum! In Maths, we practised partitioning numbers to 100, helping us understand place value and number patterns. In English, we were introduced to prepositions and explored how they help describe where things are. We also learned about the features of seaside holidays and discussed what makes a trip to the seaside special.

In Computing, we used the Paintz app to create our own seaside pictures. We showed great creativity and even labelled our drawings to identify different features. A fantastic day of learning and creativity! πŸŒŠβ˜€οΈπŸŽ¨πŸ“š
