Due to the extreme weather warnings issued for this week and forecast temperatures expected to reach up to 38°C, we would like to update you on our arrangements.
Currently, we will be open as planned tomorrow (Wednesday 24th), however, we will be closely monitoring the situation and carrying out ongoing risk assessments throughout the day. The hall can become extremely hot, so the health, safety and wellbeing of the children and staff remains our top priority.
Please be on standby in case we need to make the decision to close early. If any changes are made, we will contact families as soon as possible, by phone, updates on Tapestry, and share information on our social media pages.
We will monitor the weather and heat for the next few days and keep you up to date as needed.
Please ensure your child comes dressed appropriately for the heat:
* Light, loose clothing
* Shorts
* Cotton tops
* Sundresses
Please avoid trousers or joggers, as these may become uncomfortable in the heat.
Due to the intensity of the sun, high temperatures, and limited shade, we will be keeping the children indoors tomorrow.
Finally, please remember that you are welcome to keep your child at home if you feel this would be the best option for them.
Please can you log into tapestry and comment on the post on there, so I know who has seen and received this update please!
Thank you for your support and understanding.
Sarah C ☺️

☀️ Hot Weather ☀️
The weather over the next week is looking very warm! We will make sure the children spend plenty of time in the shade and we will have lots of water play activities available to help everyone stay cool 💦 as well as calm
Activities inside.
Please could you send your child in with (for the week)…
-A named towel and Swimwear in a carrier bag.
- A pair of crocs of similar shoes
- A change of clothes
And the usual… water bottle, hat and suncream.
The swimwear and towel can stay at the setting for the week if you wish. We may not use them every day, but we’d like to have them available just in case we decide to get the paddling pools out and splash mat out.💦 which is looking more then likely 😅
Thank you! 😊

This week, we have enjoyed learning about life cycles. Here’s some of the lovely crafts the children have made.
We were also very excited to welcome our caterpillars, which have now arrived! Over the next couple of weeks, we will observe their amazing transformation as they grow and change into beautiful butterflies. 🦋

Today we had a visit from Roy, a local beekeeper.
The children sat beautifully and listened carefully as Roy taught us all about bees. It was fascinating to learn so many new facts, especially about the queen bee and how a bee becomes the ‘queen’.
Roy explained why it is so important to look after the bees around us and how valuable they are to our world.
The children also learnt all about beehives, how they work, and the different parts inside them..
We also enjoyed a fabulous story from a local author, who kindly gifted us a copy of her book, The Adventures of Barney Bee. It was such a fun story and the children absolutely loved it! 🐶🐝
Thank you to Roy for taking the time to visit today and to Emily for letting us have a copy of your wonderful book! ☺️
