What if the ecological crisis is not simply an environmental crisis, but also a crisis of relationship, meaning and belonging?
In our latest Substack, we explore how the work of Andy Fisher and the wider field of ecopsychology has helped us understand the consequences of the "Great Severance" in ourself, community and between humans and the living world, and why understanding the problem is only part of the journey.
The deeper question for us over the past nearly 20 years becomes:
If separation is the problem, what are the pathways of return?
We explore how the Natural Self approach, together with our three models of practice, NatureWell, Natural Self Eco Therapy (NSET), and Deeper Expansive Nature (DEN), seeks to offer practical pathways towards health, healing, growth and ecological participation.
Ultimately, this is a reflection on belonging. Not returning to nature, but remembering that we are nature.

Nature Community Connector Training Complete at Standalone Farm, Letchworth
What a wonderful 4 days we have shared at Standalone Farm as another group completed their Nature Community Connector training.
Spending time together outdoors, exploring nature connectedness, health and wellbeing, community, and facilitation reminded me of something important: we are not creating something entirely new, we are remembering something ancient and essential.
In many ways, this feels like the original vision finding expression in a modern NatureWell way. A vision that recognises that people thrive when they experience connection: to themselves, to one another, to their communities, and to the living world around them.
Over the training we explored the NatureWell approach through shared experience, reflection, practical activities, and group learning. We laughed, learned, reflected, and spent time in relationship with the natural world and each other.
Nature Community Connectors play a vital role in helping create welcoming spaces where people can experience greater belonging, connection, and health through nature. They are community builders, bridge makers, and catalysts for positive change.
A huge thank you to everyone who brought their energy, openness, wisdom, and enthusiasm to the training. It was a privilege to walk alongside you.
The future of health and wellbeing through nature is growing, one relationship, one community, and one conversation at a time. Thank you Letchworth land and people.

NatureWell Training in Blackburn
Last week we completed the first two days of our six-day NatureWell Facilitator Training with participants from the Pendle Rewild Yourself Hub.
Over the two days, we explored the foundations of the NatureWell approach, a One Health model that supports health and wellbeing through deeper connection with self, others, place, and nature. Together we considered the growing evidence for nature-based practice, experienced practical NatureWell activities, and reflected on how this work can support individuals, communities, and the wider living world.
There was a wonderful spirit of curiosity, openness, fun and learning throughout the training. Participants brought a wealth of experience, insight, and commitment to creating healthier and more connected communities across Pendle and the surrounding area.
What continues to inspire us is the growing movement of people recognising that supporting human health and wellbeing cannot be separated from caring for our relationships with nature, place, and community.
A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for these first two days. We are looking forward to continuing the journey together over the coming months and seeing how NatureWell develops across the Pendle Rewild Yourself Hub and joining the growing NatureWell network in lancashire.
Supporting health and wellbeing through nature.
Building connection and belonging.
Growing community capacity.
Strengthening relationships between people, communities and the natural world.

A day of connection, inspiration, and possibility…
Yesterday I had the pleasure of attending the inaugural One Health NatureWell Conference in the beautiful setting of Towneley Hall, Burnley.
It was inspiring to hear about the incredible work emerging across Lancashire as people, communities, organisations, and health partners come together to support the health and wellbeing of both people and the natural world.
What stayed with me most was the sense of collaboration, shared purpose, and hope. There is something powerful about witnessing a growing movement that recognises that human health, community wellbeing, and ecological health are deeply interconnected.
Left feeling humbled, inspired, and grateful to be part of this unfolding story.
Thank you to everyone who contributed their wisdom, passion, and commitment. Together, we are creating healthier relationships with ourselves, each other, and the living world around us.
