Congratulations to all our pupils who earned themselves a place at the National Prep Schools Athletics Finals in July! This time last week, they competed at Millfield, with Emma and Danielle becoming South West champions in their age groups for Javelin and Bella for 600m.

Seb beat a TMS school record that has been held since 1956! He jumped 1m50 in the high jump, good enough to see him join six other pupils on their way to represent the school and the SW region at Alexander Stadium, home of the 2022 Commonwealth Games and 2026 European Championships.

Good luck to all of you and well done to everyone who took part last week - we're so proud of you!

A round of applause for our Year 7 and 8 pupils who entertained parents, pupils and staff with their end-of-year performance of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe this week. A commanding performance from Connie as the White Witch brought Narnia to life, along with Aslan, the curious and adventurous children, and a bevvy of animal and fantasy creatures all playing their parts.

Well done to all involved! πŸ‘πŸ€© More pics in the Tracker this week!

What a wonderful celebration of music we’ve had at Tockington over the last week!

On Friday, our Pre-Prep pupils took to the stage for their annual summer concert, and they did us all so proud. We were treated to an incredible variety of talents, from electric guitars and drums to woodwind, strings, singing and piano solos! ✨

Our amazing peripatetic music teachers work with our children individually during the school day to hone their skills, and they are looking forward to welcoming a whole new group of aspiring musicians this September. 🎺🎹

To inspire the children, we've held assemblies this week to expose them to the woodwind family, featuring fantastic live performances from our own pupils on the flute, fife and clarinet. This morning we had a πŸ₯ drumming demo from Mr White, who got everyone incredibly excited by showing how a simple clapping rhythm transforms into a drumming masterpiece! (⚠️ Parents: We apologise in advance if your child comes home today wanting a drum kit for their next birthday! πŸ˜‰)

Want to get involved? If your child is ready to find "their thing" in music, trial lessons and sign-ups are open. Please contact our Music Department to secure a spot for September! πŸ‘‡

And do join us for our Musical Soiree later this month! It promises to be a lovely afternoon in our Rose Garden.

It's been an exceptional few weeks for sport at Tockington with a number of our pupils breaking records and gaining achievements!

In an exciting start to our athletics season, Joshan equalled the U11 boys 800m record at TMS with a time of 2 minutes 44 seconds, and Anna broke a ten-year-old record in the 600m event with a time of 2'10! Well done to both of you πŸ‘πŸ™Œ Asia is off to a World Cup competition after representing the South West in a recent Karate tournament and scooping two gold medals - fantastic Asia! Hattie, Sienna and Danielle will all be representing the South West in Hockey, having been selected for various West Panthers squads - well done girls!

We are so proud of all our pupils competing and achieving in sport in and outside of school - please do continue sharing their news with us. And good luck to our pupils competing in IAPS swimming finals this weekend in London, and our Touch Rugby Team looking to retain their national title in the U13 Mixed Touch champs later this month. πŸ†πŸŒŸπŸ‘Š

A wonderfully special Disney Day yesterday in honour of Miss Fox! The children showed creativity and enthusiasm in their dress-up that would have had her smiling - congratulations to our lucky draw winners!

After assembly, we gathered in the garden with Ali's children to plant a tree in her memory - a winter cherry blossom that will flower from November to March. We hope that it will flourish at Tockington and enjoy life here as much as Miss Fox did. πŸ₯°πŸ˜€

As they prepare to write their Common Entrance exams this week, we’re looking back at the fun our Year 8s had at Forest School a few weeks ago! Fort building, water fights, releasing a snoozing hedgehog from the shed safely, and a slip n slide made for a session with a difference!

Good luck Year 8!

Well done to our OTs for participating and supporting! πŸ‘πŸ™ŒβοΈ

Basil, who left TMS last year, is on lap 6 of the Ultra Backyard (over 20 miles so far!)

His support crew, Henry and Hugo also left us last year, and we love welcoming back OT’s to the school πŸŽ‰
