Summer mini sessions ☀️

All welcome !

A fun filled two hours open to all, perfect chance for regulars to enjoy time together & for newbies to try club.

We have places available for Sept, so would like to offer an opportunity to spend time together and see if you enjoy.

Thursdays are an established day, we have some space due to teens leaving.
It’s a relaxed, super friendly group ~ always very welcoming. Varied ages attend from 8yrs up to 13yrs.

Tuesdays we are looking to re-start, this will happen if we gather enough interest.

How I would describe the children/teens who attend Bristol Home Education Club

They are all so knowledgeable and intellectually curious, I feel this is because they have parents who have nurtured a love of learning ~ especially subjects that interest them.

The children are independent, capable and strong in character.

We see kindness, empathy and the feeling that everyone is welcome.

The weekly club days are a time they can come together, be themselves and feel content.

𝐐𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐓𝐢𝐦𝐞 ⏰

We’ve gathered our most asked questions, lots of you asked at our open day ~ so we thought a little summary might be helpful (*ᴗ͈ˬᴗ͈)ꕤ*.゚

•We are insured to care for children aged 8yrs +, a maximum of 15 attendees per a day.

•Kelly & Alison are qualified & have ran childcare at Sansway House for 26yrs.

• Parents don’t stay at club, but can absolutely come along for a visit. Lots of children stay just for an hour or two at first, with a parent nearby.

•We offer activities each week, these are optional, some prefer to chill with friends, tinker with crafts, enjoy the garden, read or share a movie on the projector.

•You can attend how often you want, we ask parents to e-mail on Fridays for the following week to book a space ~ [email protected] ✉️

•We have comprehensive policies & procedures, DBS, paediatric first aid, premises fully risk assessed.

•Fees are £38 per a day, £36 regular booking.

•You can book an hour or two to spend time with us, to see if you enjoy the club, the children will make you feel very welcome.

Empathy plus migration ⛑️

The children took part in a gentle, thought provoking workshop to learn about the experience of migration and reasons why people may have to leave home. They talked about empathy by putting themselves in the shoes of others and engaging in stories of migration. The workshop helps students challenge assumptions about migrants, asylum seekers and refugees.

The children/teens were supported to feel it is ok to talk about subjects they feel passionate about. Some had different opinions which created some heated discussions that needed mutual understanding, they handled this well.

Thank you Kathryn from the Red Cross for another amazing mini workshop.

Taking responsibility for the BBQ, freedom of choice to decide how to spend the day.
The group chatted together to choose up and coming club day plans.
