Happy Thank a Teacher Day from the Bristol Museums Learning Team!

A big thank you to all the teachers who bring their pupils to our museums and support them during sessions. Your preparation, encouragement and teamwork help make each visit run smoothly and make a real difference to the children’s experience.

We really appreciate how you work alongside our museum educators to keep students engaged, curious and involved.

Thanks again for all that you do.

Step back in time and join us for a special Home Educators session at the unique Kings Weston Roman Villa.

Led by the museum’s Senior Curator of Archaeology, this guided experience offers a rare chance to explore one of Bristol’s hidden historic gems – a Roman villa now nestled within a modern housing estate. Discover what life was like nearly 2,000 years ago as you walk among the remains, including mosaic floors, an underfloor heating system (hypocaust), and even a miniature bath suite.

There will also be the opportunity to handle both real and replica artefacts, bringing Roman history to life in a hands-on and engaging way. Round off the session with a Q&A, where you can put your questions to our Roman expert.

A brilliant opportunity for home educating families to explore local history, ask questions and learn together in an inspiring setting.
