Last week, year 4 continued their topic in Art of painting. We used the previous week’s knowledge of tinting and shading to create a 3D effect when children drew an apple and painted it. They have shown great patience and skill so far during this topic. WELL DONE YEAR 4! 🎨

Year 3 worked very hard on their 3D modelling in Art this week! We have linked our learning to God’s Big Story and we designed and created models in clay that reflect the Gospel. We have represented aspects such as the miracles that Jesus did and Jesus’s other acts, including washing the disciples’ feet. We used water to join the clay and tools to create shape and texture. They look amazing!

Today Year 2 had a fantastic time getting creative with clay in their Art lesson! 🎨The children explored different ways to shape and manipulate the clay, practising skills such as rolling, smoothing and pressing. They made an exciting discovery too – the harder you press, the thinner the clay becomes! We also experimented with a range of tools and everyday objects to create patterns and textures from string to Lego! Well done Year 2! 👏

Yesterday in science, year 4 were looking at food chains. We looked at various living things and worked out which would eat which. We also learnt some new key vocabulary. These included: producer, consumer and predator. Well done year 4 for continuing to work hard.

Year 2 had a wonderful afternoon at St. Matthew’s Church with Fr. Alex. We learnt all about the different artefacts found in the church such as the stained glass windows, the organ, the choir stalls, the pulpit, the sanctuary candle and font. The children gave fantastic answers and shared their knowledge of other faiths with Fr. Alex. Behaviour, as always was excellent. Thank you to our volunteers who made it possible. Well done Year 2. ⛪️😀

Today in Year 5 we have been manipulating clay to create a design of the theme incarnation. The children have really enjoyed this challenge to use their creative skills and we remembered to put aprons on!🖌️😂
