Hi everyone, with the temperatures rising, we’re taking extra steps to keep the children safe and comfortable during the day 😊
We will be:
💧 Encouraging regular water breaks
🌳 Using shaded areas and spending time indoors at peak heat
🎨 Adapting activities to suit the weather
🧢 Promoting sun safety throughout the day
How you can help:
✅ Send your child with a named hat
✅ Apply suncream before arrival (and provide a named bottle if needed for reapplication)
✅ Bring a clearly labelled water bottle

🌱🥗 From School Garden to Plate 🥗🌱

The Food for Life Gardening Club Whittlefield Primary School have been busy turning their school grown produce into delicious, simple recipes.

Lead by the Food for Life programme team, this week, they used their freshly picked peas and mint to create a vibrant, tasty dip - adding red onion, garlic, ground cumin and pepper for extra flavour. They also made moreish flatbreads by hand mixing Greek yogurt and self-raising flour, finishing them off with their own grown coriander and basil for a fragrant twist. 🌿

The young cooks fully embraced the experience, developing their food prep skills and surprising themselves with how delicious their creations were!

It was a joy to see their enthusiasm and a perfect reminder that when children grow it themselves, they’re much more likely to give it a try 💚

These monthly sessions take place on the 3rd Wednesday of every month.

The sessions offer a chance to connect with other parents and carers who understand, share experiences, and access peer support around emotional wellbeing, mental health, and neurodiversity.

Are your children collecting World Cup football stickers and looking to complete their albums?We are thinking about starting up a Stickers Swapsie Club for children to meet up, swap their duplicates, and find those final missing shiny stickers!
