German Course Starting 27th May 🇩🇪

This course continues from our first 10-week programme, where we covered the basics such as introducing yourself, talking about where you live and where you’re from, your age, and describing your family.

It’s ideal for learners who already have some basic knowledge of German and are ready to build on their skills.

We also offer 1:1 classes and additional group courses.

This week was the final week of the 10 week German beginners course!

We learnt topics such as how to say your name, where you live and where you’re from, greetings and farewells, age, family, hobbies and telling the time. The list goes on!

All of the course members did amazingly well and have now received a certificate and some Lindt chocolates 🇩🇪🍫

Welcome to Burnley, Back Ecke 🥨🌭

German bakery and café, Back Ecke opened on St James’s Street a couple of months ago and is run by Syed, Susan and their son Noman. The family moved to Burnley from Germany 10 years ago and are now bringing a taste of home to the town.

On the menu you’ll find classic German dishes including bratwurst and schnitzel, alongside an incredible selection of traditional cakes such as bee sting cake, apple cake and plum cake 🍰

The café has already built up a loyal following, with customers even setting up a Facebook group ‘Back Ecke Friends’ where they arrange regular meet-ups at the cafe to share their love of German food and culture.
