I dont just hand out certificates at the end of training. I like to see youre capable, maybe youre not confident yet, thats ok, but capable

Capable of listening to feedback, of trying your best, of wanting to get better.
That shows me your passion for the industry, but also your determination to succeed because, its not easy starting out. Believe me, been there, done it.

I did this course to better understand, not just the subject but my students needs

Going to college to do beauty isn’t everyones ideal environment and so, by accident really, I've created a safe space for those wanting a career in beauty but in an alternative environment.

I know what its like - big groups, unorganised, feeling rushed to get all the units done in time. My college teacher actually made me cry one day, she was that horrible! And so I've made it my mission to do things differently ♡

So here, we are all treated with respect, in a small friendly group, where you're encouraged to be you, be creative and learn at your own pace.

Im asked a lot for funded places- something im working hard at in the background but it takes time.
So for now, Make Me Shine will grow, develop and support you as much as I can.

STARTING OUT?

I was a beginner once, everyone is at something new!

This is me at my first nail competition at the NEC back in the day.

I thought id share it because, like you right now, I had-
◇ no self confidence
◇ no followers, or reviews
◇ plenty of self doubt
◇ fear of everyone judging me
◇ scared to put myself 'out there'
◇ no idea or a plan
◇ felt my work wasn't good enough
◇ no idea how to get clients
◇ no idea what to charge
The list could go on!!

But, I did it anyway.
I just started, I began, I picked up my tools and joined in the competition that day, with loads of other amazing nail techs that came before me, but it gave me experience, some confidence, and the desire to do better.

So if you're unsure, and all of the above right now!
Just start, and see what happens.

What have you got to loose? A few people not liking you or your work or leave a bad review - in the words of Mel Robbins - Let Them!
