Pearl Hyde Community Primary School

We are delighted to announce that Pearl Hyde Community Primary school has been awarded the Centre of Excellence award for Oracy.

As many of you will know, we have been working hard on our Oracy curriculum empowering children through our Oracy slogan "Our voice is our power and we can change the world!"

We are excited to continue our Oracy journey working closely with the Voice 21 charity.

Thank you to all the staff and children who embraced oracy and supported us in gaining this award, especially Mr Herdman who leads on Oracy across the school.

Year 3 and 4 Roman Day!

Felix visited us to explain what life was like in Roman times, including the role of the Roman army. The children had the chance to try on a Roman army helmet and carry a scutum, which they quickly discovered was very heavy!

The children absolutely loved the experience and learnt so much from the session. It was a fun, hands on and informative way to bring our Roman topic to life

What a day!
On Sunday 14.06.26 we had a record amount of participants from our school attend. 23 Children, 12 Parent/Carers and 7 members of staff.
The Children's Mile is not a race, more about coming together and enjoying a walk, hop, skip or run around War Memorial. But we had 3 boys and girls who ran so fast they came in before hundreds of children who set off before them as we were part of the second wave. Well done 🤸‍♂️
