Year 6 had an amazing week at PGL, with all the children challenging themselves to achieve and try something new, even when it felt a bit scary! We took part in so many different activities, from silent discos to giant swing and kayaking to the (very muddy) sensory trail.

Year 6 represented our school so well, their behaviours and attitudes were excellent, and they really made the most of the opportunities given to them! We must also say big thank you to all the staff that made this trip possible.

We are very much looking forward to more PGL adventures next year!

Year 4 have been learning about electrical circuits, conductors. As part of their science project, the children designed and made their own switches using a range of materials.
They then tested their switches in simple circuits to see if they worked. The children showed great teamwork and scientific thinking throughout the investigation.

As part of our RE learning, Year 1 have been exploring Sikhism. On Friday, we were delighted to welcome Mrs Sandher, a member of the Sikh community, who spoke to the children about her family. She shared photographs and explained her beliefs, described what it is like to visit a Gurdwara, and discussed how Sikh values guide her everyday life and decisions. The children greatly enjoyed the opportunity to learn from her experiences. A huge thank you to Mrs Sandher for taking the time to deliver such an interesting and insightful visit.

Recycle more…
We encourage all households to support our sustainability efforts by recycling
unwanted items. At school you can recycle:
old glasses (of any kind) – Balsall Lions will distribute to people in need
used batteries
Recycling boxes in the Front Officer foyer, and
outgrown or unused clothing – Star Foundation bank by barrier
These small actions help reduce waste, support important causes and teach our
children the value of caring for the environment. Thank you for helping us make a
positive difference!

Thank you Lions!
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Balsall Lions for their generous support
to our school. Their support towards SEND, lately the funding of three laptops to
support pupils’ writing in classrooms and the provision of sustainability books, will
make an ongoing and meaningful difference to our children’s learning and development.
We are truly grateful for their kindness and commitment to our community.
