If you are applying for medicine or dentistry next year this is a reminder that the UCAT bookings page opens today.

The was a 2 marks question on the AQA combined science biology paper back in 2024 and very few students got both marks. Most answers were vague and lacked the detail.
This question has been asked many times in a variety of ways, but the mark schemes are always very similar, so it’s worth learning this process.

Today is World Refugee Day. Here’s a poem called ‘Refugees’.

I found these today whilst sorting out some boxes. Back in 2000 I was applying to university and thought I would add some American colleges to the mix, so I had to sit the SATs. It was an odd experience and really difficult to prepare for in an early internet era.
My score wasn’t high enough to do what I wanted to do and so I decided to stay in the UK which led me to an awesome 3 years of study in Kent.

Today is Clean Air Day
It’s a chance to raise awareness about air quality and the impact pollution has on our health.
Did you know that atmosphere composition and air pollution are key topics in the iGCSE Chemistry course I’ll be starting this September? It’s a brilliant opportunity for students to understand the science behind the air we breathe and the challenges we face.
