If your weight went up this week, it does NOT automatically mean you gained fat.

Daily weight fluctuations are normal.

Your weight can change because of:
👉Salt intake
👉Carb intake
👉Stress
👉Sleep
👉Hormones
👉Digestion
👉Inflammation from training
👉Hydration levels

But so many people panic after one higher weigh-in and think they’ve ruined everything.

That’s why I encourage clients to focus on trends, not emotions. Because long-term progress comes from consistency over weeks and months - not reacting emotionally to daily fluctuations.

❌Stop worrying about one week away on holiday!

If you've been consistent for months in the lead up to your time away then just enjoy it. Scale weight will likely jump up when you return but most of that will be water weight. The amount of body fat you can actually gain in just one week is minimal.

As soon as you get back, drop straight back into your healthy habits and back to your nutritional targets and workouts which you were doing before. Within 1-2 weeks, most or all of the weight will have dropped away 📉

One of the biggest mistakes I see people make is trying to follow a workout plan that doesn't match their lifestyle.

They assume more is always better. But the clients who get the best long-term results aren't always the ones training the most. They're the ones who find a routine they can realistically stick to.

For one client that might be 5 gym sessions per week. For another it might be 2 gym sessions. Both clients will also improve daily habits and nutrition.

Both can work. The key is choosing a plan that fits YOUR life.

You're not lazy, you're exhausted! The life of a parent isn't easy. You've got work, looking after the kids and managing the house and that's a lot to balance. Trying to fit workouts in on top of that can be a challenge.

When you open social media you'll see videos telling you that you must fit certain exercises into your routine or that you must workout 5 times per week for the best results. Unless you are trying to compete in bodybuilding, stop worrying about perfecton and instead - make sure that your workout routine is sustainable for you. If that's only 2 workouts per week then it's better than none!

Don't throw the towel in because you've had one bad meal! 1 missed workout or 1 bad weekend won't ruin your progress if you just get straight back on plan. Accept it and move on, you can't change it now. Don't try and compensate either by dropping calories lower for a few days. Just get back to your normal plan and you'll be back on track in no time.

Stop waiting for the perfect time to lose weight or you'll be waiting forever. There will always be another special occasion or holiday or busy period so don't delay weight loss just because of that. The reality is - if you delay starting your weight loss journey every time one of these situations arise, you will never lose weight.

Just get started now with 1 small action today. It might be completing your first workout, going for a walk or tracking your calorie intake for the first time.

Fat loss gets easier when you stop relying on willpower. Most people think successful weight loss comes from motivation but in reality, it usually comes from systems.

Things like:
• having high protein foods in the house
• planning meals ahead
• knowing your calorie target
• having gym sessions scheduled
• keeping easy healthy options available
• tracking daily habits
• and of course the most important element, tracking your calorie intake

The more decisions you remove, the easier consistency becomes. You don’t rise to the level of motivation, you fall to the level of your systems.
