Amazing trip for our Creative Enterprise students as they experienced industry insight and personal growth on a FREE Gateshead College trip to MediaCity 🎬✨

Thanks to the generous support of the Gateshead College Foundation Fund, our TV & Film, Digital Journalism, Art, Fashion and Music students were able to explore one of the UK’s leading creative hubs.

Not only did they visit industry-leading studios, production and creative spaces, they gained first-hand insight into real employment pathways across the Creative Industries. Pathways such as broadcasting and content creation to fashion styling, music production and digital media entrepreneurship, students experienced exactly where their skills could take them.

The British Film Institute (BFI)’s National Lottery funding will increase by 10% from 2026-29, with £150m available across the coming three years.

If you're age 16-19, and based in the North East, you're eligible to apply for our BFI Film Academy Short Course in Filmmaking. National Lottery funded, the course is completely free - and it's the pathway to further training and opportunities with the BFI.
