As many of you know, we lost a very special lady - Joanna Lara - on June 9th. She lost a year long battle with cancer. During that time Joanne continued to work as the Founder and Creator of Autism Movement Therapy, Autism Works Now and the director of Glorious Pies. She remained very private about her cancer, always reminding those around her, β€œI want people to focus on the work, not my illness.” Her work and her life are worth remembering and celebrating.

There will be a Virtual Memorial to remember and celebrate Joanne's life, to be held on Saturday June 27th at 10:00 am PT/1:00 pm ET. Please register in advance for this very special memorial:

There will be a short service featuring music and noted speakers: Ed Asner, Joe Mantegna, Dr. Temple Grandin, Dr. Stephen Shore, Chuck Saftler, and more. After the scheduled program, all who would like to speak will be invited to share memories of Joanne. Suggested time limit is 2 minutes.

We can all remember Joanne by keeping her legacy alive. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Joanne’s Autism Works Now program: http://autismworksnow.org/donations/make-a-change/

I just wanted to pay my tributes to a wonderful friend, colleague, support and so much more! Dear Joanne was so much more than that to so many of us! She always put others first and nothing was ever too much!! I am devastated to hear of your passing! You will be missed so much, your work has made such an incredible difference and movement. Rest tight, Jo! ❀️
