π± From planting potatoes, carrots, cucumbers and onions to caring for herbs and pumpkins and many more, our Gardening Club has been busy!
The children are learning where food comes from while developing patience, responsibility, teamwork, and practical growing skills. Watching their confidence grow alongside the garden has been amazing.
We are so proud of our young gardeners and all they have achieved so far. We canβt wait to see the fruits (and vegetables!) of their hard work in the months ahead! πΏπ₯π§

πΏπ¦ A Wonderful Day at the Greenwich Peninsula Ecology Park! π¦πΌ
Today, our students enjoyed an amazing educational visit to the Greenwich Peninsula Ecology Park. Guided by conservation experts, they took part in a fascinating two-hour workshop where they learned how to safely find, observe, and handle wildlife, including newts, millipedes, and other small creatures.
The students discovered the importance of protecting delicate habitats and learned how different species depend on these environments to survive. We explored the meadow, identified various shrubs and plants, and learned about the rich biodiversity found within the park.
One of the highlights of the day was bird watching from the bird hide, where we were lucky enough to spot baby birds and observe wildlife in its natural setting. The students were engaged, curious, and enthusiastic throughout the visit, asking thoughtful questions and gaining a deeper appreciation for nature and conservation.
A huge thank you to the conservation team, Joanna and Beth, for providing such an informative and hands-on experience. It was a fantastic opportunity for our students to connect with the natural world and learn about the importance of protecting it for future generations.

Last week we braved the heat and went to the Maritime Museumβs Astronomers Take Over exhibition! ππβ¨
We met real astronomers, tried our hand at landing a Mars rover, explored the science of light using a starlight splitter, and stepped inside the awe-inspiring βGalaxy Boxβ to discover just how incredible our Universe really is. ππ
Afterwards, we cooled off in the shade with some tie-dye fun, creating our own galaxy-inspired T-shirts to take home. π¨ππ
A fantastic day of science, creativity, and space exploration!

Over the last few weeks, weβve been busy organising, planning, planting, and watering our allotment π±
Our Friday Science Group, whose focus this term is gardening, have worked incredibly hard to create a thriving growing space. They have planted a wonderful variety of herbs, potatoes, onions, strawberries, beans, carrots, cucumbers, pumpkins, watermelon, butternut squash, and wildflowers πΌ
The children have loved getting hands-on in the garden and are excited to watch everything grow over the coming weeks!

Today we enjoyed a wonderful day of nature exploration and games. The children were fascinated observing tadpoles in the pond and spotting frogs of all sizes, from tiny baby frogs to fully grown adults. We watched them swimming through the water and hiding amongst the reeds, sparking lots of curiosity and conversation about pond life and habitats.
The group also played an epic game of hide and seek using walkie talkies, which encouraged teamwork, communication and lots of laughter. Alongside this, the children created and invented their own nature games using sticks, stones and wood chips, showing creativity, cooperation and a real connection with the outdoor environment. They spent a lot of time bonding together, which was nice to see.
It was a lovely session full of exploration, movement, imagination and shared discovery of frog life. πΈ

Such a brilliant day at the London Zoo πΎ
We managed to explore more than half the zoo and tick off everything we hoped to see! Highlights had to be the reptile house π, spotting the lions having a lazy snooze π¦, walking right through the monkey enclosure π, and watching spiders carefully spin their webs πΈοΈ
We will definitely be back again as there are so many animals to see!

This week we visited Sitopia Farm, and it was an inspiring and hands-on learning experience. Being on the farm gave us the opportunity to deepen our understanding of food, plants, and climate in a real-world context.
Students explored where and how food is grown locally, helping them build a stronger connection to the food they eat every day. The visit encouraged them to think more critically about our current food system and reflect on the role they can play in shaping a more sustainable future.
Throughout the day, we learned about seeds and how they grow into flowering plants, as well as the importance of seasonal fruits and vegetables. Students explored a large greenhouse and saw how controlled environments can support plant growth. We also learned about composting and how food waste can be turned back into nutrients for the soil.
One highlight was discovering the comfrey plant, and understanding its role in supporting healthy soil and sustainable growing practices.
The experience reinforced an important message: while our food system may be challenged, there are solutionsβand through knowledge, care, and action, we can all be part of creating a better one.
Massive thank you to Stevie from for spending the day with us and providing an amazing workshop. π π±
