He came in believing he was broken. 🔄
Not as a figure of speech. He genuinely thought this was just how life was for him. Same thoughts. Same results. Same story. Year after year.
In our first session something shifted. Not because I fixed anything. But because for the first time he could see the pattern clearly. And he realised he wasn't the pattern. He was the one watching it.
That version of him, the one that still wanted something, had been there the whole time. He just needed someone to help him see it.
That's what this work does.

I spent years being the version of myself that made everyone comfortable. 😔
Good at showing up. Good at holding things together. And quietly disconnected from the part of me that actually wanted something different.
I don't say that to sound dramatic. I say it because the moment I started being honest about that gap, everything started to shift.
Not because the circumstances changed. Because I stopped pretending the gap wasn't there.
The version of me that wanted more wasn't gone. I'd just stopped listening to it.

The distance in a relationship rarely happens all at once. 💔
It builds in the things that stop being said. The version of yourself you stop bringing into the room. The conversations that stay surface-level because going deeper feels like too much.
Most people think the problem is the relationship. Usually it starts further back than that.
You cannot be fully present with someone else when you've stopped being fully present with yourself.
If this is landing somewhere, I'd love to hear your story.

At some point you built a version of yourself that fit everyone else's expectations. 🪞
And it worked. Got you here. But somewhere along the way the role started to feel heavier than the person wearing it.
You became very good at the performance. But less and less sure who you were when it stopped.
That gap between the role and the real you doesn't go away by ignoring it. It just gets wider.
The version of you that got left behind isn't gone. It's waiting.

You didn't lose yourself all at once. 😶
It happened in small moments. A yes when you meant no. Staying quiet when something needed to be said. Choosing the safer version of yourself because it felt easier.
And one day you look up and realise you've been living at half volume for years.
That's not a character flaw. That's a pattern. And patterns can be interrupted.
The question is whether you're ready to look at what's actually been running underneath.

There was a point where I was doing everything right.
Routine. Exercise. Reading. Reflection.
And I was still circling the same thing. The same doubt. The same feeling that something underneath wasn't moving.
The shift didn't come when I added something new to the list. It came when I stopped fighting the pattern and actually looked at it.
Saw what it was doing. Why it was there. What belief it had been built on.
That moment changed more than years of effort had.
Not because looking is easy. Because looking is honest. 🪞

Willpower is loud.
But identity is louder.
Every time you try to push through a pattern, something underneath it is saying: this is just who you are. This is just how things go for you.
And until you actually look at that - really look at it - willpower just runs you into the same wall with more speed.
Identity-level change isn't about trying harder. It's about questioning the story you've been building since before you knew you were building it.
When that shifts, everything else shifts with it. 🔄

He'd been fighting it for over 20 years.
The same thoughts. The same spiral. The same place at the end of every good patch. 🌀
In our first session I asked him to watch his thoughts without becoming them.
He'd never tried that. Neither had anyone who'd worked with him before.
Within a few sessions something shifted. Not because I fixed him. Because for the first time he could see the story underneath the pattern. He wasn't the thoughts. He was the one watching them.
Today he's building his life deliberately. His relationship is different. He has goals he actually believes in. Hard days still come but he doesn't disappear into them.
He stopped fighting. He started seeing. ✨

I spent years thinking I just needed a better system. 💪
New routine. New discipline. New plan. And for a while each one helped. Until it didn't. And I'd be back in the same place asking the same question.
Why can't I just be different?
The answer I kept missing was simpler than I wanted to admit. I was trying to change the behaviour without ever touching the story underneath it.
The belief that I wasn't enough unless I was achieving. The rule that said rest was earned, not given. The assumption that staying in control meant staying safe.
Once I could see those clearly, the ground shifted.
It wasn't about trying harder. It was about finally seeing clearly. 🔁
What story have you been trying to outrun?

Most relationship problems aren't about the other person.
They're about the story you walked into the relationship with. 💬
The belief that you have to earn love. That conflict means something is fundamentally wrong. That needing something makes you too much.
These beliefs weren't chosen. They were built. And until you see them, you'll keep acting them out in every relationship you have.
The partner isn't the pattern. You are.
That's not blame. That's actually the best news. Because if the pattern lives in you, the power to change it does too.
