It is with great sadness that we learn of the death of her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II. Throughout her life, she has devoted her time to public service, for which we will be forever grateful. Our thoughts are with her family at this time.

On Friday we celebrated the Queen's jubilee a little bit early. We had nearly 200 parents join us for some singing by all the children, then a small school fete and a wonderful picnic lunch. Our friends from One Can Trust helped us produce nearly 400 cakes and cupcakes, so everyone enjoyed a treat. Xenia created a splendid Jubilee cake which we raffled as part of our fund raising for new outdoor play equipment. The day raised over £400!
Thank you to all our parents, our volunteers and, above all, our staff for all their hard work to make this wonderful day happen. And a big shout out to Miss Tarbuck for organising the singing, superbly aided by Mr Harker on keyborad!

Great to make a visit to Marsh recently with our Year 3 children who loved going back to their old school and getting a chance to have a show in their inflatable planetarium. Great science day!

Last week our wonderful partners at the One Can Trust were in to back over 150 cupcakes. Their parents volunteers worked with 8 or our Year 6 children to do all the baking and then they handed the cupcakes out at the gate as present to parents. They would love to have more Beechview parents involved on Thursday afternoons, so if you missed the leaflet and want to find out, just call the office. It is great fun!

Today four of our Year 6 spent the afternoon with Dr Holding in the kitchen, and produced some fabulous looking pizzas. "Better than Domino's" was the verdict. High praise indeed!

We had a great science day on Wednesday, with a visit from Year 2 of Marsh, to join our Years 3-5 working with staff from Sir William Borlase and their Sixth Formers, on a range of different Science experiments, and putting our new Phizzy lab to good use.
In Science our Year 3 have been learning about light. This is an early rehearsal by a few of them of a Javanese style Wayang (shadow) puppet show. It isn't easy to see but you will definitely be able to hear how much they are enjoying it!

12 of our Year 6 are loving their forest school work on Thursday afternoons. Today they were down in the woods creating their own shelters.
Someone had their dancing shoes on today - 4 Elm with Mr Harker doing Walk Like an Egyptian!
