On Monday we went on a wonderful adventure to Hill Climb Garage in Downley. The team were incredibly welcoming to both the children and staff, and kindly took us on a tour, showing us different car parts and even letting us see the mechanics in action.

Thank you so much, Hillclimb Garage - Downley, High Wycombe, Bucks, UK we couldn’t recommend you highly enough! 😊

As our nursery is surrounded by a common that's perfect for an impromptu round of the beautiful game, we took advantage of the last of the warm weather last week. For children in their early years, a casual game of footie is great for building teamwork, hand-eye coordination, and physical strength. Gooooooaaal!! ⚽

Bugs, mammals, birds...and a Giant Japanese Spider Crab that we wouldn't want to bump into! A very big thank you to Natural History Museum at Tring for hosting our parent partnership event at the weekend, and thank you to all the families that came along to explore the natural world with us 🐆🦋🐟

"When you go home, tell them of us and say, for their tomorrow we gave our today."

We feel it's important for children to learn about the sacrifices made during war, and to explore the symbolism of the poppy. Each year, the children in our setting create a poppy wreath which they then place at the village war memorial, providing an early experience of remembrance for those that fought in our honour. Lest we forget.

Oh my gourd, our two and three year olds had so much fun with pumpkins last week! First we carved them (great practice for little hands!) and then we went on a pumpkin hunt in the beautiful woods around our nursery. We hope your Halloween was as fun as ours! 🎃

🧙‍♀️✨ If I Were a Witch… ✨🧙‍♀️
Today, the children had so much fun sharing their spooky (and sometimes silly!) ideas with Miss Anisa during our Halloween week activity! 🎃💬
Each child finished the sentence “If I were a witch…” — and their imaginations soared! From flying on broomsticks to having pet cows and ducks join them for the ride, our little storytellers had the best time dreaming up magical adventures. 🌟🪄
It’s amazing to see how much creativity and confidence shines through when children share their own ideas. 💕

👻🔍 The Hunt to Find Boo! 🔍👻
Today during story time with Miss Anisa, we had a spooky surprise! 📖✨ While we were listening carefully, Miss Sue came in with a mysterious letter! Miss Anisa read it out loud it said:“Please can you help me find my friend Boo, who’s lost! Here’s your first clue…” 👀🎃
Off we went on an exciting hunt around our nursery, following clues, working together, and using our best detective skills to find Boo! 🕵️‍♀️💫
We finally found him — but guess what? He vanished again! 👻 Boo’s friend left us another note (and some yummy treats!) to say thank you for helping. 🍬💌
What a fun Halloween adventure full of teamwork, curiosity, and giggles! 💕

🕷️🍪 Spooky Spider Treats! 🍪🕷️
Our little bakers got creative (and a little spooky!) making Oreo and pretzel spiders this week! 🎃✨ With some Oreos, pretzel legs, and candy eyes, our preschoolers built the cutest creepy-crawlies around — and had so much fun doing it!
Sometimes it’s fun to take a break from our usual activities and make a special treat together. 💕🍪 Our spooky spiders were the perfect mix of creativity, fine motor skills, and Halloween fun! 🌟
We love seeing our preschoolers explore, imagine, and enjoy every bite of their creations! 😋🧡

🎃👀 Halloween STEM Fun! 👀🎃
Our preschool scientists had a spooktacular time with our Halloween STEM challenge — “How Many Eyeballs Can You Stack?” 🧠💡
Using playdough and some silly eyeballs, our little learners made predictions, tested their ideas, and counted how many eyeballs they could stack before their tower toppled over! 🧪✨
This fun activity helped us explore balance, estimation, and problem-solving — all while getting into the Halloween spirit! 🕷️🧡
How many eyeballs do you think you could stack? 👀🎃
