St Michael's Catholic School

Last Saturday, eight of our St Michael’s children participated in the Maidenhead Junior Chess Tournament. They all played exceptionally well, demonstrating great concentration, determination, and sportsmanship throughout the day. We are incredibly proud of their efforts, resilience, and positive attitude. They represented our school brilliantly and should be congratulated on their fantastic achievements.

Today, Year 6 participated in a live transition workshop - We're off to Big School. They reflected on their primary journey and looked towards the future. The children heard some great advice, good luck messages and completed a Big School quiz - all to prepare them for their next steps.

Our Year 3 pupils had a fantastic day exploring Whipsnade Zoo yesterday! They enjoyed seeing a wide variety of animals, learning about habitats and conservation, and discovering fascinating facts about wildlife from around the world.

The children were a credit to the school, showing curiosity, enthusiasm, and excellent behaviour throughout the trip. A highlight for many was getting up close to some of the zoo's most iconic animals and taking part in interactive learning experiences.

A wonderful day of learning beyond the classroom, creating memories that will last a lifetime!

Thank you to all the families who joined our Maths and English workshops after school today.

Families had the valuable opportunity to visit their child's current classroom, explore their new year group for September, and take part in a range of activities designed to support their understanding of how Maths and English are taught across the school.

Teachers from Nursery through to Year 7 were available throughout the session to answer questions, explain key strategies and methods, clarify approaches to learning, and discuss the curriculum in greater detail.

Our Reception pupils’ first school trip to Bekonscot Model Village was a fantastic success!

The children had lots of fun exploring the village and spotting different types of transport. They also enjoyed a wonderful workshop, stepping back in time to learn about when the model village was first built.

Of course, there was plenty of time for fun in the park too! The children were exceptionally well behaved throughout the day, and a great time was had by all. To top it off, the sun even made an appearance!

We are so proud of our children and grateful for such a memorable day of learning and adventure.

On Friday our pupils and staff laced up their trainers and took part in the Race of Life, showing determination, enthusiasm and community spirit.
We are so proud of everyone who took part and would like to thank all families and supporters for helping us raise funds for such an important cause.

Great to welcome back the very tired but very happy faces of our Year 6 pupils and staff! Another busy day before their journey home, and now safely back with their families, sharing fantastic stories and special memories from an unforgettable trip.
