What a fabulous day at Lane End Village Fete! The children‘s dancing was brilliant as usual - they worked hard to make sure the ribbons unwound and didn’t give up! Great job! 💃
We spoke to so many people who were interested in the changes taking place and we look forward to welcoming some of you to The Orchard Way Academy in September! 😊

Dear Key Stage One,

Hello from your butterfly friends! 🦋

Thank you for looking after us when we were tiny caterpillars. We loved munching our food, growing bigger every day, and had a safe place to make our chrysalises. While you're enjoying your half term, something amazing happened — we changed into butterflies!

Mrs Davey helped us when it was time to spread our wings and fly free into the sunshine. Now we can flutter over flowers, feel the breeze, and explore the big wide world.

Thank you for being such kind and careful butterfly helpers. Because of you, we grew strong enough to fly.

Every time you see a butterfly dancing through the garden, remember — it might just be one of us stopping by to say hello!

With fluttery wings and butterfly kisses,
🦋 Your Butterfly Friends

Lane End Primary School are delighted to announce that we have been recognised as a School of the Year 2026 for Excellence in Kindness by Kindness UK.
Kindness UK is an organisation that promotes kindness as a fundamental of everyday life. They were Impressed by our submission and the way kindness is woven into school life at Lane End Primary.
From our playground leaders and daily pledge, to staff training, our positive behaviour policy, and the everyday care and respect shown around the school, kindness is something we work hard to promote every day. We are very proud that this has been recognised through this award. 😊

As part of Diamond Class’s topic this term - 'Animals,' the children have been learning about insects. This week, the children were fortunate to receive a special visit from some caterpillars and stick insects. The stick insects originate from Brazil (Giant Brazilian Jungle stick insects) and the caterpillars include puss moths (which can be found in the UK) as well as Japanese owl moths.
The children thoroughly enjoyed getting up close to the insects and used magnifying glasses to observe their markings in detail. They have also been busy labelling diagrams and writing about the insects too.

Emerald Class started the term with a fantastic trip to Bucks County Museum in Aylesbury where they demonstrated their Roman history knowledge in a workshop and handled artefacts and replicas of Buckinghamshire's own Roman relics. They explored other galleries with prehistoric exhibits and had a truly whizz-poppingly scrumpdelicious afternoon in the Roald Dahl gallery with all sorts of exciting, hands-on science exhibits looking at light and sound. They were great listeners, got involved with all of the activities and had a wonderful day.
