Let’s talk about our feelings! Today we explored a range of feelings using PECs and matched them to the characters from The Colour Monster. We discussed each emotion together and shared real-life scenarios that might make us feel that way. The children showed great insight as they connected the story to their own experiences.

A lovely reminder of the power of gentle guidance and giving children the space to explore and discover in their own way. 🌿✨

We absolutely loved using the light box today! The children enjoyed making beautiful patterns using the coloured counters, watching the shape and colours glow as they worked.

We then explored colour mixing using the translucent coloured paddles, overlapping them on the light box to see what new and exciting colours we could create. Such a lovely mix of curiosity, experimenting, and learning through play! 🌈✨

✨ Number Ordering & Gap-Filling Fun!
“Today we explored ordering numbers and spotting the missing ones. The children loved putting the numbers in sequence, noticing the gaps, and proudly filling them in. Such a simple activity, but brilliant for building early maths confidence and problem-solving skills! 🔢🌟

At Leah’s Little Montessori, we carefully prepare environments that invite children to explore materials in meaningful ways. Today, the children combined wooden bricks with our farm animal figures. They independently constructed animal pens, considering size, order, and purpose as they built. This open-ended activity supported their concentration, fine motor development, and imaginative play while encouraging purposeful collaboration.
