Spent this morning with the Mid-Sussex History Group talking about women in West Sussex's history everyone should know about. On the bill: Dr Octavia Wilberforce, actress/activist Elizabeth Robbins, pilot Margaret Gore, 'Gert and Daisy', and the Steyning based artist, Gluck, whose 1968 'Cottages Below the Downs' I'm standing in front of. I couldn't help a brief foray into East Sussex with tales of racing driver, Dorothy Levitt, but no one seemed to mind.
