Got to be on the cards this week 🤔🤔
• Will Scottie complete the career grand slam this week? 👀
Showing my age here, but I really remember this well, probably one of my first US opens that I watched, EE won the year before at Oakmont. I remember that well.
🎥• Corey Pavin had absolute rhythm.
In the final round of the 1995 US Open, Pavin mounted a 3-stroke comeback over Tom Lehman and Greg Norman to secure his first and only major win.
Even though he was one of the shorter players on tour, Pavin shot -2 on a par-70 Shinnecock Hills course stretched to almost 7,000 yards. On the 72nd hole he secured victory, hitting a 229-yard 4-wood to within 5 feet for an easy 2-putt par, winning with a score of even par
Rory 6 iron-155 yards.
• A flighted 6-iron from 155. controlling it in the wind perfectly on the 11th.
🚨 STOP BLADING & CHUNKING YOUR CHIPS! 🚨
Want a chipping action that’s closer to 🏆 Scottie Scheffler?
Try this simple drill 👇
🎯 THE ALIGNMENT ROD DRILL
✅ Place an alignment rod approximately one club-length behind the ball.
✅ Set the rod at the same angle as your shaft at address.
✅ Hit chip shots while simply brushing the rod back and through.
Why it works 👇
🔥 Stops the club whipping too far inside in the takeaway.
🔥 Improves strike and contact.
🔥 Encourages a more neutral, efficient chipping motion.
🔥 Helps you create a more consistent low point.
🔥 Gives instant feedback on every shot.
If you struggle with:
❌ Chunked chips
❌ Thin chips
❌ Inconsistent contact
❌ An inside takeaway
This drill is for YOU! 💪

🎯 ONLINE LESSON INSIGHT 🎯
Here’s a clip from an online lesson with one of my clients this morning, focusing on how weight distribution throughout the swing influences both swing path and shot shape.
A common pattern I see is players keeping their weight back with the handle trailing through impact. This tends to encourage an out-to-in swing path, often producing the dreaded pull-slice.
On the other hand, when the weight moves forward correctly and the handle leads, it promotes an in-to-out swing path, helping players produce a much more powerful and consistent push-draw.
Understanding these relationships is one of the quickest ways to improve your ball striking and tighten up your shot dispersion.
Golf isn’t just about positions—it’s about understanding the cause and effect of your movements.

🚨 Interesting ruling here with Sam Burns at the RBC Canadian Open! 🚨
On the green, Burns’ ball was moved by the wind after coming to rest. Many viewers thought he should have received a penalty when he picked the ball up without first placing a marker behind it.
However, under the Rules of Golf, once it was determined that the ball had moved due to natural forces, Burns was entitled to restore it to its original position before continuing play. A PGA Tour rules official later confirmed that no penalty applied.
💨 Wind moves the ball.
✅ Replace it on its original spot.
✅ No penalty.
It’s a great example of why understanding the Rules of Golf can save strokes—and unnecessary controversy!
What do you think? Would you have known the correct ruling?
One of the most rewarding parts of coaching is seeing young golfers grow in confidence, develop their game, and achieve things they once only dreamed about.
Receiving feedback like this genuinely means the world to me. Coaching through the Skillest app has allowed me to work closely with dedicated players from anywhere, helping them improve step by step with personalised support, swing analysis, and constant communication.
Seeing the progress from the “before” swing to the “after” swing is incredibly satisfying — but seeing that hard work lead to tournament success and a trophy in hand is even better 🏆
So proud of this young golfer and grateful for the trust she’s placed in me throughout her journey. Moments like this are exactly why I love coaching ⛳️

💡 Keep these bunker basics in mind:
👉 Open clubface
👉 Aim slightly left
👉 Ball position just forward of centre and keep your weight 60/40 on your lead leg
