Fort Hill Integrated College

This week pupils in Yr8, 9 and 10 are taking part in a Readathon to raise money for our school library! Parents and guardians can pay funds raised into the school money app or to English teachers. Top fundraisers will be rewarded with a special trip next term!

Representatives of Fort Hill Integrated College student and staff leadership welcomed David Malcolm (Education Permanent Secretary) and Susan O’Boyle (ETI) today. They took part in a Restorative Practice group, saw learning and teaching and discussed Department of Education initiatives within our school, including adaptive teaching, teacher professional development, SEN support model, Integrated Education and the progress Fort Hill Integrated College is celebrating towards the end of this academic year.

FHIC are extremely proud of Year 12 pupil Beth Peoples who made her senior debut for Cliftonville Ladies FC, producing a fantastic performance between the sticks against Shelbourne, making a number of outstanding saves. Plenty to be proud of!

We are excited to launch auditions for the PTA Talent Show!

Auditions will take place on Friday 26th June (during both lunchtimes).

Students should register their name and act with their Form Teacher.

We are keen to showcase a wide range of talents, for example:
• Singing or musical performances
• Dance routines
• Drama pieces, monologues or comedy
• Instrumental performances
• Magic, circus skills or any unique talent

FHIC Reading Ambassadors, along with the top achieving class in Accelerated Reader, had the honour and privilege of representing FHIC as Junior Jurors for the ‘KPMG Children’s Books Ireland Awards’. Pupils and staff enjoyed a great day out in Dublin to attend the awards, and some shopping!

Cookery Club
This year, our ‘Year 8 Cookery Club’ was oversubscribed, so we ran two.
Pupils had great fun while learning lots of new cooking skills, including making pizza dough from scratch on week 3.
