Fantastic artwork created by pupils at Bank View High School following a brilliant workshop with Sonia Leong earlier in the week.

Thanks so much to Sonia for a fabulous session which taught us all about manga and gave us the opportunity to try drawing in a manga style.

As part of Refugee Week, we've been working with the wonderful author Sophie Melia Sophie Melia to share a message of kindness, understanding and empathy. Sophie's been visiting schools across Liverpool and delivering assemblies about we can never fully understand what someone has been through by just looking at them and the importance of being kind.

We've also asked Sophie to create a video assembly for Liverpool schools which is available from the news page on our website!

What a fantastic afternoon at The Florrie on Thursday celebrating a year of Liverpool being a Marmot city and receiving the Fairer Healthier Liverpool accreditation on behalf of Liverpool Learning Partnership. Achieving this status is a lovely reminder of what a small but dedicated team can deliver alongside partners to improve life chances for young people. We also loved the amazing performances from Radist and Katumba, as well as the brilliant Pictures of Health exhibition.

It was brilliant to hear the special video message from Sir Michael Marmot and to hear about the work of so many amazing organisations working to improve the lives of people in Liverpool.

Thank you to everyone who worked on the accreditation process and who organised this wonderful event.

We asked KS2 children in Liverpool what helps them get to sleep during a livestream session with @ and the Mental Health Support Teams from .

Their answers were thoughtful, practical and reassuringly simple. From bedtime stories and cuddling a soft toy to white noise, comfy pyjamas and chatting with family, these familiar routines really matter.

Today 776 KS1 children took part in our Take Action livestream for Mental Health Awareness Week in conjunction with and the Mental Health Support Teams

We asked the children to think about ways that they might take action to look after their own wellbeing by prioritising good sleep habits. Their teachers used the chat function to tell us what tips the children had for getting a good night's sleep.

Thanks to all participating schools for taking part and for your children's brilliant ideas!

These ideas came straight from Year 6 pupils during a live session led by Liverpool Learning Partnership, the RAISE team at Merseyside Youth Association and Kooth.

Pupils shared the things that help them stay calm before SATs, from breathing slowly to going for a walk, listening to music and talking to people they trust.

515 pupils joined us today for a session with the amazing illustrator Ben Rothery. He told us that "drawing is a key into a world that other people can't see" and talked about how the pupils can use illustration to show different viewpoints. He led them through an exercise to explore different ways we might see one creature.

The young people also had the opportunity to ask Ben questions about his career as an illustrator, his books, his views on particular animals and about how he is also a competitive strongman!

Thanks so much for a fantastic session and to all of the brilliant pupils and staff who joined us today!
