π Wettability of Plants won the ECITB Teamwork Award, exploring how the hydrophobic properties of plant leaves could inspire innovative solutions through biomimicry.
π₯ Put a Jumper On! was named Runner-Up in the Intermediate Science Award for exploring the structures of different insulators and investigating their effectiveness

A huge congratulations to our Ignite student Megan for winning the dot-art Schools competition in our school with her stunning mixed-media piece, 'To Be or Not To Be' π¨
Created using Photography, Watercolour, Posca and Card, Megan's artwork was selected for exhibition at the Walker Art Gallery, where she recently had the opportunity to see her work displayed alongside other young artists πΌ
Congratulations also to our talented runners-up, Fin and Amelia, whose fantastic artwork was also recognised as part of this year's competition.

The latest edition of the BRI Journal is out now!
For this edition, students at the Baltic Research Institute chose to focus on the theme of Health Inequalities.
Articles explore how age, gender and socio-economic background can influence awareness and access to healthcare services π©Ί
Students also investigate how ethnicity can contribute to disparities in patient care and experiences of medical negligence.
The journal also reflects on the changing perception of tuberculosis, exploring how stigma has historically shaped attitudes towards the disease π¦
