Tonight's beginners sewing group began making their lined tote bags after we worked on seams. Tonight we covered:

Flat-fell seam
French seam
Bound seam
Overlocked and zig zag seams.

It's safe to say everyone fell in love with the overlocker.
( They might think twice if they ever had to thread one) 😄

Product test time! ✂️

I've been trying out the Sew Easy Overlocker Mat, which is designed to reduce vibration, slipping, movement and noise.

My verdict? The jury's still out on the noise reduction, but the difference in vibration was noticeable straight away.

If you've ever used an overlocker that likes to wander across the table while you're sewing, you'll know exactly what I mean! Our studio overlockers are constantly on the move, so I was impressed by how much more stable this felt.

Definitely one of those simple products that could make sewing a little more enjoyable.
