North Liverpool Academy provides a first class education and equips students for 21st century learning. The academy is a specialist Enterprise Academy.

A place for everyone:

Our aim is to provide the highest quality teaching in a first rate learning environment. Our teachers are highly trained and use tried and tested techniques as well as more innovative methods to promote the most effective learning. Learning in each subject is broken down into shorter term, motivating modules lasting approximately six weeks each. Students and parents receive

very regular feedback on how well students are doing and what they need to do to further improve their work. The progress of each student is individually tracked and monitored. Academy staff will intervene if a student needs assistance and will involve parents appropriately. This means that while offering a broad and balanced curriculum with a full range of subjects, there is a distinct emphasis on enterprise and an enterprising approach across the curriculum. This involves actively developing the skills of self presentation, risk taking, creativity, problem solving, decision making, team work and interpersonal skills in a variety of contexts and with a range of adults from industry and the community in order to build self-esteem and confidence. The academy enjoys state-of-the-art ICT facilities and it is the use of ICT in every aspect of learning, including learning outside the academy boundaries and academy hours, will be a key feature of the curriculum. Students with special educational needs and/or disabilities:

The academy welcomes applications from Students with disabilities who will be subject only to the admissions criteria. External and internal ramps alongside lifts ensure that students with disabilities have access to a wide range of educational opportunities offered by the academy. The academy’s accessibility plan meets the requirements of the Disability Discrimination Act 1995. The Governing Body’s policy on special educational needs (SEN) ensures that students with SEN are admitted on an equal basis with others in accordance with the admissions policy, except where admitting the student would be incompatible with the provision of efficient education for other children; and where no reasonable steps may be made to secure compatibility. In deciding whether a student’s inclusion would be incompatible with the efficient education of others, the academy shall have regard to the relevant guidance issued by the Secretary of State to maintained schools.

Our creative Sixth Form students recently visited the LJMU Degree Show, gaining valuable insight into higher education and careers within the creative industries 🎨

During the visit, students explored a range of creative courses including Architecture, Fine Art, Graphic Design, Illustration, Fashion Design and Communication. Through guided tours and workshops, they learned more about university life and the exciting opportunities available within the Arts.

Recently, 31 of our dancers took to the stage to perform one of the best dance showcases NLA has ever seen!

The performances featured a variety of dance styles from ballroom to jazz - showcasing the students' versatility and talent 💃

Our students put countless hours into preparing for the show; giving up weekends, evenings and lunch times. Their dedication truly shone through in every performance. Well done to all involved.

We would like to thank all the prospective students and families who attended our NLA Sixth Form Offer Holder Day.

It was a pleasure to meet our future Year 12 cohort and begin the process of welcoming them into our vibrant academic community 📚

On Saturday 11th April, NLA were invited to present at the annual The Classical Association conference in Manchester. Mr Mooney and Mr Bartlett were joined by students Reda (Y10) and Marlena (Y9) to present on the implementation of Classics and Latin at NLA 🏛

Reda and Marlena were particularly impressive in sharing their experiences of Classics & Latin and the doors that it has opened for them. This presentation was delivered to academics, pedagogical experts and fellow teachers across the North West.

Many came to congratulate Reda and Marlena on their presentation and they were undoubtedly the stars of the show. Well done to both for representing the school in such a brilliant way.

North Liverpool Academy is delighted to announce the development of a brand-new Sixth Form centre.

This modern space, developed in partnership with Northern Schools Trust, will feature professional learning areas that emulate a university-style environment.

The layout will support a range of study styles, ensuring every student has the environment they need to succeed.

We look forward to welcoming our first cohort of students into this transformational new space in September 2026.

We were proud to welcome the Royal Ballet And Opera to North Liverpool Academy towards the end of the Spring Term 🩰

Students took part in workshops, rehearsals and performances alongside local primary schools, building confidence, creativity and teamwork throughout the day.

This was a fantastic opportunity that brought our school community together through the arts.

It’s been a busy and successful end to the spring term at North Liverpool Academy!

Our Year 7 students were recognised for their achievements in reading and writing at their Student Awards Evening, while Year 9 students took an important step towards their futures at the Key Stage 4 Options Evening.

Students also benefited from an informative gambling awareness talk, took part in an exciting wheelchair basketball tournament, and embraced new challenges through the All About STEM Chemical Engineering Challenge.

The term was rounded off with a fantastic Spring Concert showcasing our students’ talents 🎼

We hope all our students and families enjoy a restful and well-deserved Easter break.
