Another reel inspired by true life. Some of these come from my personal experience others come from your comments and stories (for which I thank you so much) ! 🤣

Fitness vocabulary 🏋️‍♀️🤸‍♀️
I am no PT, I just wanted to share with some useful vocab (took me so long to learn it I always confuse all the different exercise names!).

This reel exists because of YOU 😂☕️

A few days ago, I posted on Facebook asking you to share your most embarrassing moments speaking English… and honestly, the comments did not disappoint.

This café sketch is inspired by three real stories from our community:

☕️ white coffee / why coffee
🍩 three doughnuts / free doughnuts
🫣 R’s / arse

Proof that sometimes grammar is not the problem.

Sometimes it’s pronunciation.

And sometimes you just need an Americano and emotional support.

At Online Language Lessons, this is exactly what we work on: real English, pronunciation, confidence, listening skills and all the little details that textbooks often forget.

Our English courses are designed especially for Italian speakers who want to stop translating in their head and start feeling more natural, confident and understood when they speak.

And please… keep sharing your embarrassing English stories.
Apparently, they make excellent educational material 😂

Back in my element. 💕

Funny how some places don’t need much explaining. You just arrive, breathe out, and feel at home again.

London, I missed you.

You may or may not realise that most of my lesson sketches are based on real-life events that happened to me, my students, or my mamma when she came to visit us in the UK. Lol.

Sometimes, they’re also based on my UK family when they come to Italy. I am still laughing about the time Sam asked for “acqua del gabinetto” at a restaurant.

Laura is my alter ego. She is me 15 years ago, when I left Italy to move to the UK and go to university.

Why is she called LOOORA? Well, because every time someone asked me what my name was and I said Aurora, pronounced the Italian way, they never understood me the first time and always repeated back: “DJUSAY LOORA?”

I have now learnt to introduce myself as the horrible O-R-R-O-R-A.

That said, I am always looking for new inspiring stories. If you have a linguistic misunderstanding you would like to share, please leave a comment. I will turn the funniest one into an educational reel. :)

Tell me your GP (General Practitioner - medico di base) receptionist sounds like this too 😂

Based on a real story (not mine but I took inspiration from it). Be honest, who do you find the most annoying ? 😁
