As MSLS XX 2026 draws to a close, we return to the difficult pages of our national manuscript — where remembrance is not comfort, but responsibility. The legacy of the 13 May 1969 Incident reminds us how division can be normalised, and how fragile social trust can become when words, narratives, and fears go unchecked.
This session invites reflection not to resolve the past, but to confront how it continues to shape the present — how institutions respond in moments of rupture, from emergency governance to nation-building frameworks like MAGERAN and the Rukun Negara, and what it means for a society to carry history forward with honesty.
In engaging with what is often left unspoken, we return to the summit’s central question: what does it mean to participate in writing Malaysia’s ongoing manuscript — not only with freedom, but with the responsibility of who it is written for.

📜 MSLS XX — Manuskrip Malaysia: An Enduring Charter
MSLS is back for its 20th anniversary — and this time, we are rewriting the script.
MSLS XX begins from a different premise: that Malaysia today is not defined by constitutions and obsolete scriptures, but the summation of the individual beliefs written by its citizens.
In a markedly more unsettled national moment, this edition calls for a deeper reflection on the frameworks and narratives that have shaped Malaysia and a willingness to question the expectations we inherit.
MSLS unfolds as a two-day event.
🗓 25th July 2026 | The first day serves as a summit to present and engage with these topics.
🗓 26th July 2026 | The second day convenes a policy roundtable, bringing Malaysian student leaders together to collaborate and translate these discussions into meaningful action.
