Here is an amazing poem that our Be Her Leaders at Orchard School Bristol wrote during a feminism session held for International Women’s Day. They each wrote a line and read it like a spoken word poem. It was so powerful!

Happy International Women’s Day from Be Her Lead!

This IWD, we’d like to share with you some of our favourite images sent by Be Her Lead teachers of students celebrating International Women’s day. Some students sent uplifting messages to teachers (The Richmond upon Thames School), some decorated cupcakes (Westminster Academy) and some students hung bunting of inspirational feminist books in the library (Bolder Academy).

At Be Her Lead, we are working to empower students and create empathetic and intersectional spaces in schools, where teachers and students can share experience and support each other.

We hope that by paying attention to the needs of students in these small groups, they can become an important springboard for activism and wider change in school communities, and beyond.
