Preparing students for all the changes to come in our technology-driven world means nurturing adaptive minds that are comfortable with technical problems.
How can children prepare for adult life in the digital age?
🚀 Technology is woven into every aspect of our lives. Students at online school are equipped with a brilliant set of hard and soft skills to navigate this, but you may want to look into courses that teach skills like coding to bolster these.
🚀 Giving students space to experiment, innovate, and create is also essential. Extracurricular activities that use graphics software and develop digital design skills through hands-on experience will do wonders for their personal development and employability.
🚀 Online school prepares students for work in online (and offline) environments, helping them navigate the online world confidently. Through a collaborative classroom environment, they learn how to communicate and work online.

How do online schools ensure and track student wellbeing? Student mental health is often considered to be the most challenging issue facing schools today. The Oxbridge Online School is well equipped for this challenge and here are some reasons why:
⭐ We believe that there’s no standard path for all students. Our Learning Enrichment team works with each student to identify their learning style and our teachers are trained to deliver a bespoke education that doesn’t overwhelm them.
⭐ Emotional well-being is at the heart of the curriculum and learning. We encourage resilience and support social and emotional learning. We identify students at risk of experiencing Emotionally Based School Avoidance and put plans in place to support them.
⭐ Through study skills sessions, students are taught the hard and soft skills necessary for academic success. All students have a dedicated guidance counsellor and join our peer mentoring scheme, so they’re fully supported on their journey toward independence.

How can online schools ensure a better experience for students? Here are 3 of the many things that the Oxbridge Online School does to make this happen:
⭐ Avoid a blanket approach: education tailored to individual needs. With small classes, our focus on learning enrichment, and state-of-the-art technology, tracking students' progress has never been easier or more accurate.
⭐ Prevent information overload: our classes are kept to 45 minutes, with short breaks in between each lesson and mid-morning energise sessions to provide optimum conditions for retention.
⭐ Encourage independent thinking: online school gives students more autonomy and encourages them to express their ideas. The result is confident students who trust their ability to problem solve and can learn independently.

What is oracy and why is there so much talk about it in the news? Developing skills in spoken language is a key determinant for future success in relationships and employment.
Oracy empowers people. It helps them to overcome their insecurities, shyness, and self-doubt. When students are able to communicate their ideas or their needs, they equip themselves for leadership roles and are better able to navigate life's difficulties.
With increasing globalisation, the rise of remote work and so much of life moving online, online school equips students with the oracy skills required for modern life. At the Oxbridge Online School, students learn how to effectively lead and participate in online discussions which helps them to develop deep and productive relationships.

Online school is a great alternative for students with autism.
A recent article in Schools Week laid out some key areas to focus on when supporting students with autism as they transition to secondary school. Students at online schools are usually new to it, so online schools are well-versed in helping students with this transition.
School life can be anxiety-inducing and overwhelming, but at the Oxbridge Online School, our small, structured classes and focus on individual learning needs, allow us to provide individualised study routines and track progress closely.

It doesn’t take long for students to get used to the online classroom, and many prefer it to traditional in-person environments.
In traditional classrooms, it’s very easy for students to get lost in the crowd due to disruptive classmates or because teachers are tending to the more demanding students. At the Oxbridge Online School, we keep classes small, so every student gets the attention they deserve.
What's more, the immersive experience of an online platform means that there are far fewer distractions, students are sat in the comfort of their own workspace, and have direct sight of the teacher at all times.
This live, direct connection, means that students truly engage more of the time, and small class sizes mean that we can allow them to make regular contributions without being disruptive.

Remote work is here to stay, and whilst the new generation grew up online, there’s so much more to working well from home. Employers are making new demands and require adaptable, self-motivated employees who can work from out-of-office settings.
Online school provides the perfect preparation for the modern workplace, giving students the hard and soft skills necessary for success in our ever-changing world, enhancing students' ability to collaborate virtually, communicate and present online, and understand the technical challenges that come with remote work.

Increase in teacher support for online GCSEs says Ofqual…
New data shows that an increasing number of educators are beginning to favour online exams over traditional exams.
This comes at a time when national policy conversations about putting all GCSEs and A Levels online have become much more serious.
Teachers across the country have seen that online exams are just as fair and manageable as traditional exams. Students' familiarity with computers may also enable them to perform better, in an environment that better reflects the demands of the modern working world.

June 5th is World Environment Day, a day to remind us that our actions matter and that we can accelerate change to preserve our world.
Online schooling is one way to reduce our footprint.
A study by the Stockholm Environmental Institute found that online learning can reduce energy emissions in the areas of transport and campus activities by 90%.
The focus of this year's World Environment Day is plastic pollution, and this is something that online school also reduces. Oklahoma State University found that students with disposable lunch products (such as plastic bags, bottles, and packaging) produce 30kg of waste in a nine-month period.
Online school lessens the need for these types of products.
