The most amazing day ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿ“๐Ÿ“

Photos 26/02/2021

Today marked the end of an era as I said goodbye to Palfish and made the 3rd scariest decision of my life (honestly not that far behind selling my house & quitting my job to travel the world) to concentrate 100% on building my own teaching business which Iโ€™ve been working on in the sidelines for the past few months. ๐ŸŽ‰

Palfish has given me the opportunity to travel the world whilst earning a living in the one of the most stress-free ways possible. Thanks to this amazing opportunity, Iโ€™ve taught from 7 countries around the globe and had the most exciting adventures EVER. ๐Ÿ‡ป๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ฐ๐Ÿ‡ญ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡ฝ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ท

I will miss my little munchkins forever. Leaving behind my students who have been by my side for almost 2 years has been super emotional and totally bittersweet. More than just teaching them English, Iโ€™ve seen their baby teeth fall out and their big ones grow, watched them start kindergarten and then school, and sat with them during trips to the shopping mall, restaurant, zoo, dentist, hospital, and even the toilet (yes, including poo-poos).๐Ÿ’ฉ

I can only hope they remember me in the future when theyโ€™re wondering whether to use the voiced or voiceless /th/ or long or short /oo/. (If you know, you know.) ๐Ÿ™ƒ

Feeling super emotional right now and the only way I could share this news was by using an old photo from the snow day we had about 6 weeks ago (life has been crazy busy since then and apparently I havenโ€™t taken a single photo of myself since?!) โ›„๏ธ

I will still be here to help you guys embark on your own travelling teacher adventures and I can still help you to get your TEFL Certificates & start teaching English online. Still feel free to message me about this at any time! ๐Ÿ’Œ

One of the EASIEST & most REWARDING ways to make TRAVELLING & EARNING your reality is by TEACHING ENGLISH AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE. ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿผโ€๐Ÿซ

Itโ€™s way simpler than you think to become an English Teacher - & NOW is the perfect time to get started so youโ€™re ready to go once you-know-what allows! ๐Ÿฆ

Let me break it down for you into 3๏ธโƒฃ EASY steps:

Donโ€™t forget to SAVE THIS POST & return to it when youโ€™re ready to take the plunge! ๐Ÿ“

1๏ธโƒฃ Get a TEFL certificate. There are lots of TEFL providers out there, but you need to choose a reputable, comprehensive course that will actually prepare you for life as a teacher. Send me a message or check out the links in my bio for more info about the course I took & recommend to others! ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿผโ€๐ŸŽ“

2๏ธโƒฃ Choose WHO/WHERE/HOW you want to teach. There are so many opportunities to teach English & travel. You can teach online, volunteer in deprived communities abroad or teach in schools & language centres around the world.
Personally, I love teaching online because of the flexibility it gives me to teach from wherever I want to go ๐Ÿ“ฒ

3๏ธโƒฃ APPLY for jobs. A good TEFL provider will support you with your job search after graduating - or if you want to teach online, I can show you the ropes and help you get started! ๐Ÿ’ซ

Do you want to travel the world & make money as you go? ๐Ÿ’ธ
Send me a message or visit my website (link in bio) for more info about how YOU can get started ๐Ÿ’Œ

2 years since I embarked on my Yoga Teacher Training in Kerala, India...one of the most beautiful yet challenging experiences of my life. ๐Ÿง˜๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ

In my โ€œold lifeโ€, I never could have dedicated a month to the practice of yoga. I had limited holidays from work, plus a mortgage to pay that made it feel impossible. ๐Ÿคฏ

Yoga Teacher Training is just one of the many amazing opportunities Iโ€™ve had since taking my TEFL certificate & travelling the world. ๐Ÿ’ซ

Who knows what opportunities it could bring you?!๐Ÿฆ‹

I know itโ€™s hard right now to imagine a life of freedom and adventure given the current situation of the world, but Iโ€™m holding on hope that our time will return and be bigger and better than ever โœจ

Whoโ€™s with me?! ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ

Happy VEGANUARY ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’š

This week marks my 3rd VEGANniversary, so in celebration I thought Iโ€™d share with you my TOP 5 TIPS FOR TRAVELLING AS A VEGAN ๐ŸŒฑ

Donโ€™t forget to SAVE THIS POST to return to later! โœ…

1๏ธโƒฃ๐ŸŒฑLearn some phrases in the local language explaining the meaning of vegan (no meat/fish/honey/eggs etc.) & save this on your phone to show waiters/shopkeepers to help them understand your requirements.

2๏ธโƒฃ๐ŸŒฑVisit to find vegan-friendly restaurants and cafes. I like to support 100% vegan establishments where possible, but if youโ€™re struggling their website usually also includes places which have a few veganisable options too.

3๏ธโƒฃ๐ŸŒฑSearch online or ask the locals to find out some โ€œaccidentally veganโ€ delicacies. Iโ€™m often surprised to find a few dishes that are already vegan that the locals eat alllll the time, which makes it super easy to eat out wherever you go.

4๏ธโƒฃ๐ŸŒฑ Join Facebook groups designed for vegans in the area (e.g. vegans in Barcelona). Iโ€™ve managed to find a vegan Facebook group for almost everywhere Iโ€™ve visited and theyโ€™re full of recommendations on vegan-friendly places in the area, and they often organise vegan meetups, too!

5๏ธโƒฃ๐ŸŒฑ Stay in apartments with kitchenettes where possible so that if all else fails, you can take a trip to the local veg market and make yourself some trusty veg fried rice!

Whereโ€™s the most vegan-friendly place youโ€™ve ever visited? ๐Ÿ’š

3 years ago today, I took a huge leap of faith by signing on to a TEFL course. It was a moment that would completely change my life. ๐ŸŒŽ

I learned lots of important teaching skills like grammar, reading, writing and speaking, and even classroom management and discipline. ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿผโ€๐Ÿซ

I met likeminded people who also wanted to teach English and travel the world. They inspired me and gave me hope for a future beyond the 9-5. ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿฝ

A few months later, I graduated with a 168 hour combined TEFL Certificate, after completing part in a classroom and the second half online. ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿผโ€๐ŸŽ“

I sold my house, quit my job and left behind everything I knew for a life of travel and adventure, teaching as I went. The rest is history...๐Ÿงš๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ

Since then, Iโ€™ve taught English to Asylum Seekers and Refugees, in schools in Vietnam, and online whilst travelling around 7 different countries. ๐Ÿ—บ

There have been ups and downs, and I would never pretend itโ€™s been perfect. No life is ever perfect - but Iโ€™m still certain itโ€™s the best decision I ever made ๐Ÿช„

2018 was the year I followed my dreams. 2021 could be YOURS! ๐Ÿ’ซ

Send me a message for more information about getting TEFL qualified, or teaching English overseas or online. ๐Ÿ’Œ

HOME FOR CHRISTMAS ๐ŸŽ„

This is the first Christmas Iโ€™ve spent at home since 2017, so Iโ€™ve been making the most of the festivities and taking part in every British Christmas tradition I can get my hands on! ๐ŸŽ…๐Ÿผ

This weekend I made a wreath and last week I attempted a (dodgy-looking) reindeer cake ๐ŸฆŒ

Where are you guys spending Christmas this year? Are you feeling festive? โ˜ƒ๏ธ

HOW FAR FROM REALITY DOES THIS PICTURE SEEM RIGHT NOW?! ๐Ÿฅถ

Last year I said I was never turning my back on December in the sun - who could have ever thought this year would turn out the way it did?! ๐Ÿฆ

We had HUGE plans for this year. We were meant to move back to Vietnam, visit a LOAD more countries and then end the year by getting married. ๐Ÿ‘ฐ๐Ÿผ๐Ÿคต๐Ÿผโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Obviously none of that quite happened but thereโ€™s still a load of things Iโ€™m grateful for this year. Spending 2 months in Turkey was a highlight, and I feel so lucky to be teaching English online, which has meant Iโ€™ve been able to continue working and earning even during the pandemic. ๐Ÿ˜ท

I have no idea when weโ€™ll get married or finally make it back to Vietnam, but this year is definitely teaching me to be more grateful & present, and stop always focussing on the future. Itโ€™s a lesson I desperately needed to learn (and still need to get WAY better at!) ๐Ÿ’ซ

What has 2020 taught you? ๐Ÿช„
