Sri Krishna Kruta Kameshwara Stotram
A Hymn to Lord Kameshwara, Composed by Lord Krishna
Śrī Kṛṣṇa uvāca (Lord Krishna said):
Ślokaḥ 1
vande kāmeśvaraṃ devaṃ, trailokya-janamohanam |
yasya saundaryaleśena,
khyāto'haṃ bhuvanatraye || 1 ||
I offer my salutations to Lord Kameshwara, the enchanter of the beings of all three worlds. It is by a mere fragment of His beauty that I (Krishna) have become famous across the three realms.
Ślokaḥ 2
koṭi-kandarpa-lāvaṇya-darpa-khaṇḍana-paṇḍitam |
paśyāmyātmekṣitaṃ bimbaṃ, bhavataḥ śrīmukhāmbuje || 2 ||
He is the master who shatters the pride of a crore of K**a Devas (Gods of Love). In His divine lotus-face, I see my own captivating form as if it were a reflection in a mirror.
Ślokaḥ 3
pāśāṅkuśau puṣpabāṇān, ikṣukodaṇḍa-śobhitam |
cintaye ṣoḍaśābdābhaṃ,
tvāṃ kumāraṃ maheśvaram || 3 ||
Adorned with the noose (Pasha), the goad (Ankusha), the flower arrows (Pushpabana), and the sugarcane bow (Ikshukodanda), I meditate upon You, O Maheswara, who appears as an eternally youthful prince of sixteen years.
Ślokaḥ 4
Roman Transliteration:
madhye maṇidvīpa-ratne, kāmeśvaryā samanvitam |
brahma-viṣṇu-śivādhāra-mañce tiṣṭhantamāśraye || 4 ||
I take refuge in Him who resides in the heart of the jewel island, Manidvipa, eternally united with Goddess Kameshwari, seated upon a throne whose very legs are Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva (Rudra).
Ślokaḥ 5
sṛṣṭi-sthityanta-hetūnāṃ, brahmaviṣṇuśivātmanām |
bhavantameva manye'haṃ, bījaṃ paramakāraṇam || 5 ||
I consider You alone to be the seed, the ultimate cause of even the Trimurti—Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva—who themselves are the agents of creation, preservation, and dissolution.
Ślokaḥ 6
tvatpādapadma-dhyānena, tapasā mahatā purā |
mayā prāptaṃ hi golokaṃ, dhāma divyaṃ sanātanam || 6 ||
Indeed, it was by meditating upon Your lotus feet and by performing great austerities in the past, that I attained Goloka, my eternal and divine abode.
Ślokaḥ 7
prakāśastvaṃ vimarśastu, devī śrīlalitāmbikā |
advaitaṃ śiva-śaktyaikyaṃ, śrīvidyā-tattvamadbhutam || 7 ||
You are the Light of Pure Consciousness (Prakasha), and the Divine Mother, Sri Lalitambika, is its Self-Awareness (Vimarsha). This non-dual union of Shiva and Shakti is the wondrous, ultimate truth of Sri Vidya.
Ślokaḥ 8
kṛṣṇasyedaṃ stavaṃ puṇyaṃ, kāmeśvara-manoharam |
paṭhedyaḥ śraddhayā yuktaḥ, sa labhenmokṣa-sampadam || 8 ||
Whoever recites with faith this meritorious and heart-pleasing hymn to Lord Kameshwara, composed by Krishna, shall attain the supreme wealth of liberation (Moksha).
|| Iti Śrī Kṛṣṇa Kṛta Kāmeśvara Stotram Sampūrṇam ||
(Thus ends the hymn to Lord Kameshwara composed by Sri Krishna.)
