Curated by Joanna MacGregor, this year’s Autumn Piano Festival opens a two-year project of Robert Schumann’s complete works for solo piano, performed by Academy pianists, featuring over fifteen hours of what many regard as the greatest and most original piano music ever composed.
From Schumann’s much-loved ‘youthful’ masterpieces —Carnaval, Kinderszenen, Humoreske and the G minor Piano Sonata— to his later personal works, this is a chance to immerse yourself in the intricate world of music’s visionary poet.
