Discover the uniqueness of Charterhouse Square School! Nestled in a truly unique location at the heart of London, overlooking the iconic Charterhouse and neighbouring the captivating Barbican, our school stands out in every way. We embrace a refreshing approach to education - no uniforms, no formalities. Our pupils address their teachers by their first names, fostering a strong sense of community.
With a close-knit camaraderie, our pupils create lasting connections, journeying together from Nursery to their final years of prep school. A happy setting indeed, as they flourish in a familiar environment.
We take pride in a harmonious blend of academic brilliance, nurturing a global perspective, and cultivating the finest character traits in our pupils. Our passionate academic staff serves as a wellspring of inspiration for their young minds. As a result, our pupils confidently step into the future, securing places in the most prestigious senior schools in the capital and beyond.

At Charterhouse Square School, we believe in fostering a strong bond between pupils and teachers, and what better way to do that than by eating together every lunchtime. Our talented chefs craft a fresh, nutritious menu that is simply irresistible, complete with a mouthwatering salad bar every day. We're all about promoting a diverse and healthy diet, and our children truly understand the importance of eating the rainbow. We encourage them to explore new flavours and dishes, making mealtimes an exciting adventure. They're fearless foodies, always eager to try new and exciting dishes - in fact, our School Council had a tough time picking a dish to remove from the menu because the children enjoy it all so much!

We are delighted to announce that the ISI has judged Charterhouse Square to be ‘excellent in all areas’.

This is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our outstanding team and recognition that Charterhouse Square really is a very special place. Our remarkable pupils were described by inspectors as having ‘an excellent attitude to learning, consistently enthusiastic and ready to learn’ and as ‘skilled communicators, articulate and confident’. And most importantly, ‘from the earliest age, pupils actively support each other in a highly collaborative atmosphere, respecting and recognising individual differences and needs.’

We could not be more delighted, and we hope you enjoy the read – skip to P9 for the educational quality section.

On Thursday night we opened up our beautiful building to future, current and past parents to celebrate our successful expansion and bright future. The building has undergone a huge transformation by @BryenLangleyConstruction, from being derelict to a thoughtfully restored and inspiring learning space.
With champagne and delicious canapes made by @AccentCatering it was lovely to chat to our parents and to meet those whose children will start in September.
Some of our staff have worked with us for over twenty years and it was wonderful to see the familiar faces of past parents and hearing what their children and young adults are doing now.
It was a very special evening, thank you to everyone who came and celebrated with us. #CharterhouseSquareSchool #CognitaWay #AccentCatering #BryenLangleyConstruction #CityOfLondon #IndependentSchool #Barbican 02/04/2023

As part of Science Week, the Star Room did a rather gross, yet fun and memorable experiment – making poo! We simulated the digestion process by adding vinegar (stomach acid) and water (saliva) to a sandwich bag (the stomach) of bourbon biscuits, crackers and bananas. We mashed this together and then poured the contents into a pair of tights (the small intestine) and squeezed out all the nutrients. The resulting waste was then poured into a paper cup (the large intestine) and excreted through a hole in the cup. A very fun (if smelly) experiment! #ScienceWeek #STEM #CharterhouseSquareSchool #AccentCatering #LondonPrepSchool 24/03/2023

Meet Dave and Diana, our 2 sweet ducklings. Newly hatched, they are still in their warm incubator but will be ready for the children to hold in a day or two. We are all hopeful that the other 3 eggs will hatch overnight or tomorrow.
STEM Week continues with a building challenge in the Balloon Room – making strong structures out of newspaper and tape. The children rolled the paper and used triangular shapes to make caves, animal houses and more.
Everyone is having so much fun....Lego workshops tomorrow!

Science Week has started - hooray!
The duckling eggs have arrived, and we are looking forward to a week of experiments and investigations across the school, including our Robotic Workshops and the Star Room Science Fair when classes from the Red Rooms and up will be invited to visit. The Stars have made little projects using electricity that they will demonstrate to younger children and get them involved in (and hopefully excited by) STEM work.

We have had the most wonderful World Book Day 2023.
As part of World Book Day, we have also signed up to a local 'book drive' organised by the Children's Book Project. Did you know that one in four disadvantaged families have fewer than ten books at home? The children were asked to bring in 2 pre-loved books in which will be donated to the local community. By giving a child a book, we are giving them the chance to develop the literacy skills needed to succeed in school.
Our theme was Roald Dahl and we had several W***y Wonkas, Matildas and Oompa Loompas. The Green Oaks and Acorns made some great crocodile masks whilst the Yellow Lions created their own chocolate wrappers and learnt about fractions at the same time!
Thank you to all our parents for sourcing and creating the wonderful costumes. The children have had a super day celebrating their favourite books and characters. #CharterhouseSquareSchool #WorldBookDay #RoaldDahl #CognitaWay #ReadToLearn #CityOfLondon #Barbican #Bookworm #BookLover 02/03/2023

Today we had the opening ceremony of our new Learning Deck. The oldest and youngest child in the school performed the honours of cutting the ribbon and the children saw the fabulous space for very first time. A very exciting day indeed for Charterhouse Square School.
