⚽ Man City Undergraduate Summer Course Leader Spotlight: Dr. Christie Scanlon ⚽

Dr. Christie Scanlon is a lecturer with more than ten years of experience in education. He specialises in leadership and management, mental performance and research. He holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education, is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and has a UEFA Licence.

His PhD in Sociology explores how online identity affects the mental health and well-being of elite footballers. He focuses on how players shape and manage their digital presence and how the pressures of visibility, self-promotion and public scrutiny influence their sense of self, emotional health and performance.

Alongside his academic work Christie is the founder, host and coach at Mindset For Sport. This platform and podcast looks at the mental side of performance in sport and beyond. Through conversations with athletes and leading practitioners he explores the mindsets and strategies that drive success. He also supports individuals through coaching that builds resilience, confidence and personal growth.
