Dry scalps and dandruff get confused ALL the time.
Here’s an example of a (mildly) dry scalp, caused by irritation in this case, vs a mild-moderate case of dandruff, caused by the harmless fungus malassezia plus an oily scalp.
Although there are many causes of both conditions, these are some of the most common ones.
Dandruff can also appear much scalier than this, especially in cases of seborrheic dermatitis.
What’s important to note, is that the causes, and subsequently the treatments, for these cases are VERY different. One probably needs extra cleansing, and one might need less. NEITHER requires oiling the scalp!

There’s is already SO much confusion, as well as misinformation about hair loss in the hairdressing community, we’re working to give ALL stylists the knowledge they need to support clients properly.
As hairdressers we are people pleasers, we LIVE to make people feel good.
But sometimes a well meant piece of reassurance can actually do more bad, than good.
Stylists need to be taught how to navigate conversations around hair loss, and that’s why we’re bringing out a FREE online course to do just this 🥰

Polyendocrine Metabolic Syndrome commonly causes hair thinning and hair loss, and it can be hard to know how to talk about it with clients.
We’re working to get rid of the stigma of hair loss, by sharing the tools to encourage conversation in the chair.
Hairdressers need to know this, if we’re to truly support every client. Please share 🙂🙏

Because our message, our courses, are the truth.

The fact that hairdressers are still not taught in any level of detail about conditions they WILL encounter and be asked about on a daily basis, is just not good enough. In fact, it’s damaging, and it’s sad.
Hairdressers are helpers. We support people through difficult times by making them feel instantly better about themselves through self image.
Help us change things and spread awareness and education about common scalp and skin disorders, so stylists can better support clients the way we ALL want to.

So many clients are claiming to be experiencing hair loss after ‘The Jab’ so what’s actually going on?
Well, it’s not exactly the medication itself causing it so much as a side effect OF a side effect.
The FIRST side effect in question is the reason most people are using it - rapid weight loss.
However, a common side effect of rapid weight loss is hair loss - Telogen Effluvium to be exact.
It’s temporary and will balance out once the body does too.
