BSET Holds Eid Reunion and Community Networking Event in London
The Brihottor Sylhet Education Trust (BSET) successfully held its Eid Reunion and Meet & Greet Party at the London Enterprise Academy on 11 May 2026, bringing together more than one hundred guests to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr following the holy month of Ramadan.
The event also served as an important networking occasion, providing an opportunity to inform members of the community about the ongoing charitable work carried out by BSET and to introduce new trustees and members to the organisation.
Chairperson Mr Mohiv Uddin welcomed the guests and thanked everyone for attending. In his address, he highlighted the significant achievements of BSET over the past few years, particularly its work supporting disadvantaged students in Sylhet, Bangladesh. He explained how the organisation has been funding school admission fees for underprivileged students to help them continue their education.
Mr Uddin stated that over the last two years BSET has raised and distributed approximately £60,000 — equivalent to nearly 10 million Bangladeshi taka — benefiting more than 4,000 students across the Sylhet region.
He also shared the organisation’s future vision to establish a special needs school for autistic children in Sylhet, a project that received strong encouragement and praise from attendees.
The programme began with a recitation from the Holy Quran by Dr Syed Mashuk Ahmed, followed by the Chairperson’s welcome speech and remarks from guest speakers. Many praised the outstanding work of Brihottor Sylhet Education Trust and expressed enthusiasm about the proposed special needs school initiative. Several guests also pledged their support by expressing interest in joining BSET as trustees and members.
Mr Dilwar Hussain, General Secretary of BSET, and Trustee Jamal Uddin hosted the program with support from Habibur Rahman, Press and Publicity Secretary, and Trustee Kayser Khan.
There were many prominant community figures among the guests who spoke and expressed their delight for the work BSET does and wished it well for the future.
The evening concluded with guests enjoying a full-course meal in a warm and friendly atmosphere, celebrating both Eid and the collective efforts of the community in supporting education and charitable causes.
