This Friday is the start of the Highams Park Arts trail, which, as a member of along with .rose.clothes and I help to organise. We also couldn’t do it without the help of Gordon Turpin, Gillian Poulter and and sponsorship from 🙏

This year we have 36 exhibitions and 38 events, workshops/classes and performances in and around Highams Park.
There will be stone carving workshops, pottery, art classes, poetry readings, basket weaving, live music,a vintage market and much more. So if you are local come and get involved.

This Saturday I will also be leading a walking tour around the open studios from 2-4.

So excited to be running another repair workshop with .rose.clothes as part of the Highams Park Arts Trail. This workshop we will be focusing on repairing woven garments like jeans. You will get samples to work on but you are also welcome to bring along a garment to repair.
All materials and equipment will be provided, some basic sewing skills are required.

This was a big project to complete but I’m pleased with the results. This wrap had lots of moth holes and one section had really big holes. So it was decided to do that part with colourful visible mending and the rest was invisibly mended. The owner was really pleased with it and hopefully it will be useful and warm for a long time to come!

It’s the end of term finally and I made some pom pom angels for my Form class.

My new project is a knitted cowl using this gorgeous yarn which I’ve been meaning to make for so long! However I’ve never knitted anything in the round and as a leftie who knits right handed I’m struggling to hold it all comfortably. Think I need to get to this weeks meet up for advice! .

I took a course in picture framing recently and was amazed at how much I enjoyed it! It felt good to learn something new and I’m looking forward to making some frames for small textile works next.

Second day of the Arts Trail today and Highams Park has been buzzing. Looking forward to the repair workshop I’ll be running with Jade .rose.clothes next Saturday. Still some places left!
