If you went down to The Woodford Wells on Friday, you would have been sure of a big surprise! Avon House early years children came together for a ‘beary’ good time at their Teddy Bears’ Picnic!
Pupils from Puffins, Mallards and Kingfishers gathered with their favourite cuddly companions for an afternoon packed with fun and games. Enjoying delicious sandwiches and teddy bear-shaped biscuits, taking part in exciting picnic games and sharing lots of smiles, laughter and bubbles together.
Once our pupils had finished their picnic adventure they settling down together for a special story, giving everyone a chance to relax with their teddies after such a busy time.
What a wonderful way to celebrate a year of interhouse achievements this week, with the Morris, Pankhurst, Cavell and Churchill house breakfasts taking place.
From Monday to today, each of our four school house leads welcomed parents to a special breakfast gathering, sharing highlights and memories from the year gone by.
From captivating poetry readings and talented instrumental performances to impressive small group singing, every event showcased the creativity and teamwork of our Avon House pupils.
The mornings have been a fantastic opportunity to reflect on a successful year and celebrate all that has been achieved together.
Thank you to all the families who joined us this week!
Foundation 2 were ready for their close-up in Computing this week!
The youngest Avon House photographers had a snapshot-tastic time learning how to use the digital camera app on school iPads. They worked on finding interesting subjects on a photo scavenger hunt in our Mighty Oaks area together, demonstrating fantastic creativity and confidence behind the lens.
We certainly developed some new skills today and captured lots of smiles along the way on this sunny Wednesday.
The pride is growing...
From Simba and Mufasa to Scar and Rafiki, the clues are starting to spell out something special.
Are you as excited as we are?????🦁👑
Today, The Sustainability Council visited Packford’s Opticians on Woodford High Road to donate 25 pairs of unwanted reading glasses. These glasses will be passed on to people in need, helping to reduce waste while making a positive difference in the community. ♻️👓
🦁✨ Something wild is coming...
The savannah will come to life on our stage this term, and we can’t wait to share more with you!
From unforgettable performances to incredible costumes, music, and teamwork, our talented cast and crew have been working hard to bring The Lion King to life.
Here’s a sneak peek of the magic... 👀
Stay tuned for more photos, highlights, and behind-the-scenes moments from this spectacular end-of-term production.
Foundation 2 went on a wild adventure at Hertfordshire Zoo, meeting amazing animals and taking part in a lion workshop where they discovered fascinating facts about the magnificent big cats. They certainly weren’t lion around as they listened carefully and shared their ideas!
As if that wasn’t exciting enough, they also travelled back in time for a dinosaur workshop. The children were dino-mites! Learning new facts about prehistoric creatures, exploring fossils, teeth, bones, and finding out how dinosaur life millions of years ago isn’t that different to some animal life today.
With the British weather giving them the full rainforest experience, you can certainly say Mallards and Kingfishers have had a roarsome and unforgettable day together.
