Passionate about Italian food & homemade cooking, just like Mamma used to cook!

The light hits you as the warmth envelops you. The ochre walls, each street a different shade of honey. Then the sound, a shutter creaking open, a scooter two lanes over, bells from a church you can’t see yet. Salt and coffee in the air, and underneath it, someone’s sugo already on the stove. You haven’t even unpacked. You’ve already slowed down.

This is what the south does to you. Not somewhere you look at, somewhere that gets under your skin. This is Molise, the stretch of coast nobody told you about, and it feels exactly like this.

Save this for the days you need reminding it’s out there, waiting.

Italy is a culinary journey šŸ‡®šŸ‡¹āœØ

This week we ā€˜Taste Sardinia’ at our Thursday evening supper club, 25th June, at MammaLina Cookery School in Wanstead, London.

One evening will transport you through generations of culinary and cultural traditions, from this beautiful Mediterranean Island

Where Moorish flavours are more familiar than modern Italian šŸ‡®šŸ‡¹

Make your own fregola (Sardinian pasta) from scratch, alongside our guest ā€œPastaiaā€, cookery tutor and Italian book author Carmela Sereno (from Carmela’s Kitchen)

Followed by a sit-down supper and a goodie bag to take home sponsored by Filippo Berio. We’re having an incredible Sardinian-inspired seafood feast. Book via the link in bio…

Dolce far niente, the sweetness of doing nothing šŸ‡®šŸ‡¹āœØ

No phone. No plans. Nowhere else to be.

The art of being exactly where you are is at the essence of the Mediterranean lifestyle.

An exciting moment for MammaLina!
Thrilled to be featured in Italy šŸ‡®šŸ‡¹ Travel šŸ‡®šŸ‡¹ Life šŸ‡®šŸ‡¹ šŸ‘€

This month’s issue features the cookery school under ā€œItalia! recommends: explore Abruzzo and Molise through local food and culture.ā€ To see my corner of Italy, Termoli, Molise, and the wild Adriatic coast of Abruzzo, celebrated in print means the world to me.

It’s the part of Italy most travellers never reach, and one even many Italians forget exists. Which is exactly why I take a small group there each autumn for La Dolce Vita, my six-day ā€˜Undiscovered Italy’ cookery and cultural retreat. This September, a small group of us will be cooking, tasting and living like locals.

We’re nearly full for 2026. If you’ve been longing for an Italy that’s slower, realer and entirely your own, comment or DM me and I’ll send you everything you need to know.

Grazie, Italia! for seeing what I see in this beautiful, undiscovered place.

Dolce far niente, nonna style šŸƒ

Two of them, every afternoon, same corner of the piazza. A pack of worn cards, a trump slammed down, an argument that isn’t really an argument. No phones. No plans. Nowhere else to be.

We’ve somehow turned doing nothing into something to feel guilty about. My nonna would laugh at us. Here, sitting in the square while the afternoon turns gold is the point. The cards, the gossip, the third coffee nobody needed. This is nonnamaxxing in its purest form: the art of being exactly where you are.

In Termoli every street ends the same way. At the sea. 🌊

You won’t find Termoli on the Italy postcards. that’s rather the point. This is Molise, the region even Italians forget, and each September I bring a small group home with me to live it, not tour it. Five days on the Adriatic coast, cooking what’s in season, long lunches, and these streets down to the sea.

Don’t see Italy like a tourist. Live it like a local.

A few places left for September. Comment MOLISE, or tap the link in bio to enquire.
