2025 Local Elections - Grantham Research Institute on climate change and the environment 04/04/2025

We have extended last year’s Climate Election project, with a limited test run on the May local elections. Our aim is to highlight candidates’ views on climate change and net zero, ensuring information is available to help voters make an informed choice.

Our focus is on a selection of council seats in Cornwall, Durham, Hertfordshire and Shropshire, as well as the Hull and East Yorkshire and Greater Lincolnshire Mayoral elections.

We need help to contact candidates and share this information as we approach the May council elections.

Find out how you can help us on our website.

The video outlines three major global challenges we currently face: the climate crisis, biodiversity loss and environmental degradation. This is followed by an introduction to the work of the Grantham Research Institute during which the two presenters outline some of the pioneering ways in which we're seeking to confront these challenges.
