Meet the Artist Georgina Hartley-Willows at this year’s this weekend 27-29 September at London’s amazing Georgina explains “I studied fine art at GCSE and A-level, but from university onwards I pursued languages and trained as a teacher. The birth of my child has encouraged me to take a new pathway and rekindle my love for painting. I have two distinct collections with signature styles. First, my acrylic landscape paintings are a vibrant celebration of nature that show the juxtaposition of manmade elements (roads which create pleasing leading lines) alongside the beauty of typical landscape features (flora and fields, etc...) and how the combination of the two together is also something beautiful. I aim to embrace technicolour and bring fun, joy and optimism into people’s lives. With bold, surrealistic, stylised colours and texture, I love to examine the beauty in the shapes trees create and their dappled shadows across the road. In stark contrast to these colourful pieces, I have my second collection of ink paintings, done using Parker Quink fountain pen ink and a brush. My typical subject matter for these is of dancers and I love to capture the essence of movement in a still piece. The quality of the ink itself is also beautiful, with rich tones of blue that occasionally dry yellow along the edges. These pieces are delicate and evocative. I am in the early stages of setting up my business selling my art and alongside regular prints, I also offer any of my pieces as large scale wallpaper murals, for those who want to make a big statement in their home.”
Also if you can’t make it to the fair you can invest in her artwork via her new website https://notablankcanvas.co.uk/
