To learn the roll half grain moxa takes practice and there a process with tip to break down each stage. Day 2 of my moxibustion course focuses on half rice grain. I have finished writing and illustrating the handout with instructions for both days. I was taught this method by Maya Suzuki Maya Suzuki LAc. This method is difficult but with high rewards. Full rice grain is just for dispersing. Half grain enables you to tonify or disperse. It goes deep into the body and highly effective for patients with fatigue and many other deficiencies. It has improved my practice and it is worth the effort. I will help teach the basics to get you started in your moxa journey. acupuncture

We are proud to share that Elvira Grob has been awarded Best Student Research Poster in Acupuncture at this year's BAcC Annual Conference.

Her award-winning poster, Restless Spirits: A Critical Review of Clinical Evidence of Acupuncture for Restless Legs Syndrome, explored the evidence supporting acupuncture as a treatment for Restless Legs Syndrome (RLS), a condition affecting millions of people worldwide. Through a systematic review of clinical research, Elvira examined treatment effectiveness, safety, and the potential role acupuncture can play where conventional treatments may not always provide sufficient relief.

πŸŽ‰ Celebrating Research Excellence at CCA! πŸŽ‰

πŸ† This achievement reflects not only Elvira's dedication and academic excellence, but also the importance of research in advancing acupuncture practice. By engaging critically with evidence, our students develop the skills to become thoughtful practitioners and future contributors to the profession.

A special thank you to the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC) for recognising excellence in student research, and to Prof. Volker Scheid for his role in presenting this award.

Please join us in congratulating Elvira on this outstanding achievement! πŸ‘

πŸ’† Have you been feeling stressed, overwhelmed or anxious recently?
Traditional Chinese Medicine teaches us that we can’t think our way out of stress. It is a lived, somatic experience that can affect sleep, digestion, mood, reproduction, muscle tension and the nervous system.
In TCM, acupressure uses the same points and principles as acupuncture, but uses gentle pressure instead of needles to help support the body. It is an accessible (and free!) way to reconnect with your body to help release stress, calm the mind and support emotional well- being.

πŸ‘† Swipe along to learn 3 acupressure points that you can use at home to support stress relief and help regulate your nervous system.

πŸ’Ύ Save this post for later, and let us know which point you try first…

🌿 If you'd like more support to manage stress and regulate your nervous system, or you are intrigued about how acupuncture can help you, book in to see one of our student practitioners.
