The Augustus De Morgan (ADM) Mathematics Society got its name from the first Mathematics Professor at UCL.

With its strong heritage, it currently stands as one of the oldest societies in the university. ADM, short for Augustus De Morgan, is the Maths Society here at UCL. All the students enrolled in the Mathematics department are members of the society; making it one of the largest and oldest societies on campus. VOLUNTEERING OPPORTUNITY:

Are you around London at the beginning of August? Would you like to spend some time with high-school students, visiting the UCL Maths Department ( opportunity offered to the student by IntoScience)?
Then, we have the perfect opportunity for you! You can help students learn more about topics in Number Theory ( i.e. continuous fractions), show them the campus and answer any of their questions regarding university life.
Details are as bellow:

✨✨✨THE 2022 ADM GALA is happening! Come along for a fun night with friends to kick off the summer!

We understand that exam season can be stressful, so we’re hosting the 2022 gala specially for you🤩

Time: Saturday 28th May, 7-11pm
Location: UCL institute bar
Dress code: black tie

Ticket: £5 for ADM members (all students in the maths department are automatically enrolled), £10 for non-member attendees

📣Career talk: From Maths to Quant Finance

We’re delighted to bring you a career talk into finance by Hooman, recent maths graduate and as many of you know the former president of ADM. Hooman currently works in quantitative finance, and will share his experience in going from a maths degree to a career in an dynamic industry. This is a must for anyone looking to break into the finance industry with a quantitative background, as Hooman will demystify the process and give valuable insights into what he does, why it’s fun and how to get into it.

📣📣ADM quiz for Black Mathematician Month (BMM)!

October is the Black Mathematician Month, hence we’ve organised a fun quiz for teams of 3/4 people to celebrate their amazing achievements and contributions!!🥳🥳 Come along to meet more of your fellow mathematicians🤩

Date: Friday 22nd Oct
Time: 5-6pm
Location: 25 Gordon Street (maths building), 502 maths common room (yes we have a common room and yes there exists a microwave)
Capacity: limited to 30 people so register now!

ALSO, we’ll be going for drinks at phineas (literally downstairs how convenient) after the quiz at roughly 6pm, so if you couldn’t get in for the quiz then meet us later for a fun social night :)))
