In grade one, it was six-year-old Khaula’s first day of school. She was overjoyed that she had finally joined her siblings instead of staying home. It would be her only day at school. Eighth-grader Uzair Ali saw the attackers and leapt to shield his friends by lying on top of them. He was killed; shot 13 times, but he managed to save his companions. Fourteen-year-old Fahad Hussain opened a door so his friends could run out. He stayed by the door making sure everyone was evacuated. He was gunned down while doing so.
They would become three of the 144 names—most of them children’s—on a long list created by a group of terrorists that day at the school. The incomprehensibly high body count combined with the vulnerability of the victims make it the most horrific attack in Pakistan's history. And while this number, 144, is a story unto itself, the 144 stories within it have to be told.

So the pages of this book are the 144 accounts of courage and sadness of children, women and men, as told by their loved ones, whose absence will be forever painful, but they will be always remembered.

"Autograph please" I said. My voice barely coming out.
" Idahar lao, naam kya hai tumhara? " He asked in his heavy voice. I handed him the tennis ball.
"Raafay", I said.
He signed the tennis ball. No words, nothing else written. I was disappointed, grabbing the ball with my hand and turning away.
"Left hander ho?" He asked.
"Yes" I said.
''Cricket kheltay ho?" He asked again.
"Jee". I said.
"Shabash, good luck" He said with a smile.
I felt overwhelmed.

People love him and people hate him and still love him. But of Shahid Afridi it can safely be said that cricket never has and never will see another like him. To say he is an allrounder is to say Albert Einstein was a scientist. A complete Super Star, easily the most loved one in Pakistan and around the world. Not just because of his looks but because of the good human being he is. And played sport always with a smile on his face.

Happy Birthday SHAHID AFRIDI ! Long may you live, Long may you keep entertaining, and hopefully win us the next T20 World Cup. Ameen.

Things weren't easy for her initially when she wanted to go abroad. Her parents weren't strict but they were afraid how she would manage everything alone. But she was determined and resilient and therefore became the first from her family to study abroad in the United States. Few years later she became the first Asian to be funded for Documentaries by Stanford University. Few years after that she became the firs Pakistani to win the Grammy Award. Later became the first Pakistani to win an Oscar, next year first Pakistani to make animated movie and today the first Pakistani to win two Oscars. Just because she was determined and resilient. For sure she is an inspiration to all the women of Pakistan who want to achieve something in life. God bless her and hopefully in future so many other women will make Pakistan proud.

Not sure if I would marry London, she is bloody expensive, but we are definitely fooling around some more. She can have my heart and I can immerse in its beauty while it lasts. Do give it a read. :)

During the second world war the British government imposed 'War tax' on Indian Subcontinent. After the war few million rupees were left with the Punjab Government. Malik Khizar Hayat, the Chief Minister of Punjab at that time had two choices, either pass the money to the British government or donate it to some other fund of the government. He did neither and announced that he will send 4 most intelligent students of Punjab for higher studies to the Cambridge University, United Kingdom. That's how the journey of Abdus Salam to Dr Abdus Salam began.
